Are they Lit or Is This the Transportation of the Future?
by oppostate insince it's got two doors and more importantly just one seat, it's probably not the best vehicle for going out in kingdom service.
but this vehicle is amazing.
the c-1 by lit motors is a two door car/motorcycle vehicle you can't tip over.

It's repulsive. So glad I don't have to pretend to belong anymore. I couldn't. -

ladies , its not just me, is it?..
by sowhatnow inok ladies, has there been any documented studies on the role religion or society plays in keeping women in an economical and social disadvantaged state ?
im wondering how many other women out there in the world, who either being raised or being long term followers of a strict religious faith, with traditional family structures, have upon either divorce or death of a spouse find it nearly impossible to find a mate or economic stability , and live out the remainder of their lives struggling and either bouncing from one guy to another, being disappointed or used, or simply alone.
i have personally felt, that i, being a xjw and now divorced woman , with no acceptable work skills,[ ie: fancy resume with degrees] living of low wage part time work and barely any alimony , will simply be viewed as someone trying to get another man to support her.

If men luck out on dating sites, some women are lucking out too.
ive talked to numerous people lately who have gone the dating site route and some have found their soulmate. Everyone is always a bit shy to say that's how they met, but it's perfectly ok. Ex witnesses often don't have many social networks for meeting other singles.
Sowhatnow, keep trying!
(And also keep thinking about and pursuing what it is that makes YOU happy.)

by asensier inyou can probably guess how this story goes.. i began dating a non-witness boy.
he knew i was a baptised witness and understood the consequences i faced for dating him.
we agreed to keep our relationship secret, which was easy considering our 200 mile distance.

Most of us here are living proof that you can actually be MORE successful and yes, HAPPIER without that religion. You sound like you know this already, probably because of what you've seen in your boyfriends family. I like the traveb's idea as well. Be sure they know it's in their court, and that you will be there for them. This actually might make them pause and think 'wait, it's not a complete given that I can never talk to her. This whole idea is a bit crazy...' -

It's completely understandable you feel overwhelmed right now. This is a biggie. You may go into mourning for a while.
You never know what may happen in the future and how many friends or family you will get back, but it does take patience. No this is NOT loving and it's not biblical.

I have a daughter who is 18. I can not IMAGINE disowning her because of her falling in love with someone who isn't our religion or following the rules. What it takes for witnesses to do this is serious mind control. Please know that your parents are being controlled and they don't know what they're doing. They can not think for themselves anymore. Try not to take this too personally but know that you are still a person worthy of love. This happens every day in that religion. Heartbreaking.
p.s. You are completely adorable together!! Please pursue your education, at least you have a great college application essay to write now.

Are JWs trying to make dysfunctional kids and destroy their ability to live normal lives?
by C0ntr013r inare jws trying to make dysfunctional kids that wont "fit" in normal society so they will "return to jehovah"?
because there have been many stories about young people who have been out in the world only to find how bad it was and how correct the org was.. a good jw kid with "good" jw parents will have many big issues, some examples:.
fear of demons (fear, misfit).

I just want to emphasize how one simple rule, not letting kids play extracurricular sports, causes a witness kid's social awkwardness.
Youth organized sports is SO good for kids. Not that they should be so tied up in all their time off from school that they have no free time. But just one sport is a great help to them socially. Middle school years (ages 11 to 13 or so), are an extremely awkward age...Especially transitioning from elementary to middle school. Guess what helps? Having played a sport with local kids. They will have been teammates with a great number of other kids from other schools, from each year they have been on a team. It widens their circle greatly. When they go to middle school, they not only know the people from their elementary schools but from every other school in town. Middle school becomes a fun place to reunite, not a daunting place where you don't know most kids.
Also, people have all sorts of different natural abilities. Often these abilities are in sports. What is a witness kid who is amazing at sports supposed to do? Totally deny their talents. Hopefully they are also great and passionate at something else, because they have no chance at all to develop athletic talent. So, thanks to the society for completely cutting off the potential of so many children who otherwise would have had a whole lot more self esteem as well as have improved their physical abilities. You know those nerdy people who walk strangely? Do you think they were on sports teams? Not usually. Sports helps kids work out the kinks.

They'll mention their appreciation for childless couples and seniors and singles once a year in a watchtower study article and feel they've covered all the bases. -

Reliable source - new round of US Bethel layoffs coming soon
by sir82 inwas talking to an ex-bethelite who is still very well-connected to those in the ivory tower.. he says that there will soon be a(nother) large number of us bethelites who will be "reassigned to the field" as pioneers and special pioneers.. he did not give his source, but he is pretty reliable.
incidentally, he was "reassigned to the field" in the last big purge about 7 years ago.. i imagine those so reassigned would be pretty teed off.
let go just before the golden lakeshore palace was completed..
