The new 'classes' jehovahs-witness.net has created. Which one are you?
by Esse quam videri inover time a number of different 'classes' of members have arisen on this forum.
1] apple watch watchers - this group takes a great interest in watches worn by members of the governing body.
2] cult escape consultants - one who freely offers advise on how to flee from a cult - mainly the wt society.

I'm waiting for someone to post the fundamentalist theist class. Drop by with inflammatory posts as if to purposely rile the atheists. Atheists respond accordingly. -

WHEW I thought you were identifying yourself by that post :).
Yep, I went through the 'but what if' phase for a while, but after I found out about the pyramid steps leading to his 1914 thing, I mean that's just crazy. It's like the script of a bad movie, except it was our reality! We didn't know it came from such a crazy source, we just felt its craziness :(.

JV, when you research Russell and the things he made up based on his obsession with Pyramidology, but which they still teach today, HOW CAN THAT POSSIBLY BE RIGHT. -

I need some advice
by SpunkedTeen ini dont think ill be able to leave the organization, you see i have no close friends in or outside the jws and my entire family is part of the cult,if i leave my mom and the rest of my family will be heartbroken and i dont want to be the reason they are hurt.

Great advice here!
Use the next few years to do as well as possible in school. Talk to your guidance counselor now, tell her your family situation and that you have no support for going to college. She will give you good advice on how to proceed.
If you don't have a job, get one. This will give you time away from family, and save at least half of your money towards college.
what are you passionate about? Pursue it, and see if there are any community programs similar. Try to make new friends.
You can get out of this small pond you've been brought up in, you just need to go slowly. Don't feel desperate. You're going to be ok.

(Alive, love your post!)
(aude sapere, great suggestions!!)
jordan, a positive outlook is half of it. I would also like to know your age and general location to give you more specific advice. But remember that worldly people are not what you've been told. Some bad, mostly good. Get active in your community and you will find the best ones.

Reflecting on my Disfellowshipping
by kairos intoday is the day.. i was baptized as one of jehovah's witnesses on march 25th 1989.disfellowshipped for admitted apostasy today, september 10th 2015.. what an amazing story we all share.
how did we get involved with this group and think this was the best way of life?.
i asked my wife to stay home from the meeting tonight and spend the evening with me.she is.... we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past monday.. i must admit, i never saw any of this coming, but it couldn't have come sooner.i'm free of all the fake friendships.

Kairos, it must feel so strange, after 26 years, to close the book. Kind of a strange mix of reminiscing and melancholy and peace. I'm glad you can move on now, and pick up another book that's entirely your own. Love to your wife, I know she is still trying to be a witness, but she is supportive of you and that's quite noteworthy. -

Name Things You Can't Do If You Are JW...or not supposed to do
by minimus inwitnesses are not supposed to stand for the national anthem but can stand for a flag salute.. you can't say bless you if someone sneezes, good luck!, or " you too" if someone says, happy holidays.. it is a religion of cannot dos.
everything is pagan and worldly.. what are things that are unacceptable to jehovah's witnesses that really are no big deal to everyone else?

Just lost one more friend
by paradisebeauty ini used to talk weekly on skype, with a sister from another country.
i didn't tell her much about my research and change of beliefs, until today ... in the conversations some doctrines came up and i told her i don't believe 1914, first, then i went on to tell her that i also don't believe there are 2 classes of christians, that i did not believe the government of the kingdom will be in heaven while the kingdom en earth, that i believe the whole kingdom will be on earth, and that from what i read, jesus was pretty clear that he will come back to earth, visibly.
the "god always had an organization" dogma was dropped and i told her it is not true, out of 9000 years of human history, it's not sure there were 1000 years when god had a loyal organization ..... i did not plan to tell her all this things, but it just happened, and things came up in the conversation... and once i dropped one bomb i dropped them all .... she said i do not sound like i am one of the jehovah's witnesses any more ... and even though we ended the call with "see ya" i have the feeling i will not hear from her any more ... .

Pb, I am sorry. Hopefully some of your points will get through to her with a little more time. Or she may just cloud them out, because it's easier. It's hard losing friends, people who have cared about you and who you care about. <3 -

TV.JW.ORG (September 2015) - Generation explained again
by Designer Stubble inguess the overlapping generation concept is difficult for most to comprehend.
david spane does his best to explain it again.
the cutoff date for this generation has now moved to 1992 (was once 1935), the year that fred franz died.
-
FayeDunaway
A generation is a group of people in a 20 to 30 year time period. They age generally together and die generally in a similar period of time.
When Jesus spoke of it, it applied to those who would see the destruction of Jerusalem.
The governing body applying it to themselves is delusional, desperate nonsense.
Lurkers: There are other places to go. You don't have to entertain these false prophets anymore. You WILL be happier elsewhere, despite what they say. Of course they are going to say that there is nowhere else to go. They want control of your life. They have taken advantage of you long enough. Listen to your brain.

Make sure there are no fairies in your daughters wallpaper pattern, or anywhere on anything. Seeing a fairy movie is ok. Don't buy your son a magicians tricks kit. Seeing Cinderella is ok, but don't sing the bibbidi bobbidi boo song. Make sure not to speak too highly of any heroes not mentioned in the Bible. MLK was a false religion preacher, not to be idolized. We should be neutral on civic affairs, MLk wasn't. Abraham Lincoln is a nationalistic icon, not to be glorified. Susan B Anthony, she didn't know her place. Votes for women? Votes for anyone are choosing man's authority over Gods. Let the world get horrible, sit back and do nothing, it just proves our point that everything is going to pot. Don't smoke pot.
