It must be such a shock to go from being practically worshipped everywhere you go, agreed with about everything--you are always right, given money and gifts and free livelihoods...and to suddenly be kicked to the curb and your word means nothing and good luck supporting yourself and starting over at your age, and hopefully you have family to turn to and parasite off of. The message is clear: Give your life to the org! And when we're done with you we don't care what happens to you, see ya! -

Caleb and Sofia used to brainwash children
by shattered_origins inokay, i need to vent.
as a newly awoken individual, i have yet to "come out" to my hard core jdub parents.
my plan was to lay low and use my unbelieving husband and baby as an excuse for my "inactivity", it has worked for the last few months.

Well he's four months not four years. But still! I agree with everyone above, nip it in the bud. I think it may be time to come out to your mom that you don't plan to stay in the religion. You want the absolute best for your son and the negativity of that religion is a bad influence for children. She's going to have to deal with it sooner or later. Do it while your son is too young to know what's going on. I know it will be painful. :/ But you have your family to protect, and so far they are all on your side. Don't let your mom divide your family. -

Couldn't take it anymore.
by Darkknight757 inso i decided yesterday to give my wife's full disclosure.
not sure it was the best decision considering she holds very firmly to the resurrection hope so we can see our babies again.. anyways she is agreeable to begin a study to find a better truth.
where is a good place to go to get some good reliable biblical info on the web that we can consider together?.

Done4good, I agree. When I was a witness I probably would have answered 'no' to the literal question, and my reason would have been, because JW's believe the creative day was not a literal 24 hour period. -

Another thing I learned from this study: don't move to Wyoming! What the heck, 3% of people there are witnesses?? That's like, a guarantee that every class you are in in high school has a witness in it. One in 33 people?? I remember there were some small island nations with that kind of percentage. At least in Wyoming the people are few and far between... -

It's striking that 48% of witnesses make less than $30,000 a year. That doesn't leave much for the contribution box. -

3rd gen what a fabulous night!! Now I'm curious who the model is...pm me ;).
my daughters used to get embarrassed when I would suddenly have deep 'left a cult!' discussions with strangers, but now they practically start the conversations themselves. Conversation is so much more interesting when it's not about the weather....

Are there any references to bathing in the bible? Yes! Bathsheba bathed, and you know where that led her and the heartache it caused.
