it is by the words that we worship jehovah god, bringing praise to him.
as an introduction to song 146, jw org states -jesus considers any act of love and support for his anointed brothers as though it were done for him.
Funny, the title sounds like a Christian Rock song.
(Which, although I sing them sometimes at church, is not my favorite genre by far.)
But the words are all Jehovah's witness. You must prove your love constantly, you are never good enough, not really, you won't know till the end if you are approved. Pay me back for what I did for you.

i'm 35, i've been baptized 20 years, married 15 years.
it seems like the wife and i are going in opposite directions spiritually.
This place is less about being immoral and more about being free and able to talk. I would say most of us are happier since leaving, and it's less about sinning and more about following the natural course of your own life, without the dictates of a marginal religion. Some of us are actually more spiritual than we used to be. Doesn't sound like that will be your natural inclination, which is ok.
You sound depressed. I'm sorry your marriage has taken a downturn. You followed the typical witness pattern, baptized young, married early. It's a lot of heavy life altering decisions at a young age.

The elder gave your husband the advice that elders give to people who have to have an apostate in their house. If' you must live with them, no religious discussion is allowed whatsoever.' What they don't realize is that we 'apostates' LOVE that!! But what they are trying to do is protect their followers from any apostate reasoning and influence. But you know, your husband may be 'won without a word' (lol) by you following your dreams and pursuing interests and helping people and making friends and by still being a loving wife (if that is your wish.) I think this is GREAT for you, and I think you are very right to feel so free and positive. Hugs!!
having watched many jc youtube videos one question that gets asked is "where else would you go?".
in other words if not jehovah's witnesses then what other religion or organisation would you go to?.
it's one that i have trouble answering, what would you say?.

she turned one today, and 36 earlier this week.
we planned a big party, big for two people that have never thrown a party before.
we rented a church fellowship hall because 1. it was nice and big and affordable and 2. it was kind of awesome to throw a party in a place we would have never ventured in our previous life.
Sorry, I have to tell you about my first birthday 'out'. It was miserable! My husband left the religion with me but didn't grasp the birthdays holidays thing yet. So I cried in the bedroom. My little daughter came in and saw me crying and went out and came back later with a birthday card. It made my day.
The next year I threw myself a party! Invited some ex witness old friends I had reconnected with. Had a full on cake with candles ....even a pinata :).
That year was a crazy year. Everybody needed a big first birthday party!! It was catch up time. I was worn out. But it was fantastic.
I'm so happy for your wife and I hope she throws one for you too!

"look, i know you feel obligated to go through with this to make your parents happy and to be a good girl. But you know in your deepest heart of hearts that this is a cult, even tho you have tried to make this work for you and convince yourself you agree with it, you know it's not really for you and it's not really true. If you go ahead and get baptized, you will eventually be separating yourself more from your parents than if you don't get baptized. I know it feels bad and rebellious not to, but it will actually hurt your relationship with them later, after you decide you really can't live with a few old men in new york telling you how to live your life. You will eventually read the Bible on your own, realize the witnesses have rejected Christ, and have to leave. If you get baptized all of this is more complicated!! Don't do it."

i had a thought this morning and i am putting it out for discussion.. when a christian is a nutjob we call them fundamentalist but a nutjob muslim is "radical".. doesn't one detach the person from the religion while one puts them square at the root?
shouldn't we call radical muslim terrorists "fundamentalist"?
