I really hope the most powerful person in the world will soon be female. And I hope when that happens, more 'sisters' decide they aren't going to take that crap anymore. We have moved from ancient times when muscle mass was important to prove ones strength to be the leader. It is still that way in wolf packs, lion prides, gorilla families. Among humans, when societies use their brains to test leadership instead of braun, is when they advance. Patriarchal societies are the least peaceful. When women are equal (or greater) there is less war and more education. When is the GB going to wake up and realize the leadership of women? It's happening all around them.

Poor Sisters
by Darryl ini really felt for you sisters i mean i really did.
when you showed up at the sunday meeting and found out the subject of the talk was going to be -and i can't quite remember the exact wording- but something to the effect of marriage and headship, or honoring and obeying your husband, or something like that how many of you wanted to jump right back in your car and head home.
i mean 45 straight minutes of beating down you poor ladies and telling you that you are not worthy of making one decision, taking the lead in anything, don't question the man be obedient and keep quiet.

JW and the Sabbath
by Andromeda inhello brothers and sisters and truth seekers,.
i am an active jehovah's witness.
i don't believe in 1914 and i'm tototally against their way of dealing with abuse cases.

You have accepted how the witnesses have twisted everything else, why not 1914?
If I was you, I would do further research. Try Jwfacts.com.
And then, since the sabbath is important to you, look into Seventh Day Adventists.

Dutch convention: disassociation in broader perspective
by Gorbatchov intoday at the utrecht international convention in holland there was no "word in spanish" about dissassociation.. "we avoid any contact with dissassociated witnesses.
not only sinners, but in a broader perspective, also inactive witnesses".. there was a lot of noise in the hall direct after that moment.. so, no fading escape in the near future, i expect.. g..

if the JW party were elected, living in the U.S. would soon be like living in North Korea. -

Sbf I totally agree. Tho I am actually liking Hillary now. Something happened at the DNC for me. Maybe it was the look she gave her daughter. Funny how in one moment I changed my mind about her.
Kepler, I came to a realization during your post. Trump equals Rutherford! (Except with less hypocritical religiosity.)

This generation will by no means pass away
by Darryl ingood morning i hope everyone is having a wonderful day.
there has been a lot of talk about the "new light" concerning the generation teaching.
it's been a major part of the prophecy concerning the last days and of course since jws are the only ones able to decipher and understand prophecy it is of great importance to get this main prophecy right.

I always wonder what the waiting staff thinks of these lunch conversations. It must be weird hearing parts of ex witness lunch talks. It would be kind of fun being a waitress and sort of a detective, trying to figure out what people are talking about. I bet when they spend a long time at the next table, wiping it down, they are listening to every word :).

Suffering with "Bridge-over-River-Kwai-syndrome" while fading
by OneGenTwoGroups ini've never liked being late for meetings, 10 minutes early has always been 5 minutes late for me.
i'm a very punctual atheist at the meetings still.. when someone asks a simple question from the platform and not one dummy raises their hand, i still feel the need to raise my hand so that we don't all look like idiots.. my shoes still need to be clean and polished, my suits and ties match and are in good shape.
i never wear them anywhere else.. i still feel like saying hello to people that are obviously being ignored by everyone else.. people not singing out still bugs me, lol.

You're a responsible person, and socially very conscientious. These are good things. Plus, old habits die hard. Hopefully you can find a new outlet for these things, one that actually agrees with you instead of causing internal battles.

How would the world be different if there were no JWs?
by JW_Rogue ini think this would be a great question to ask active jws.
they love to say how the world would be so different if everyone was a jw.
however, what if we flip the question and ask, would the world really be much different if the jw faith never came into existence?
