Londo, the "progressive" line made me laugh, too. Oh they are SO progressive, not letting women hold microphones or be in charge of anything, or wear pant suits.

Blood card
by Inabunker inhi new to forum and first post!
i have been reading posts on and off for years.
still fighting my "doubts" and struggling internally, my family is active and the wife knows nothing of my late night website reads here.

FayeDunaway
It was years after actually LEAVING that I had the courage to post on a site like this. Huge step for sure, bunker. Welcome, buddy!!!
Strangest thing to me that a symbol of life because life is so sacred could be more sacred than life itself. It's idolatry, isn't it!?!
Yes I recall others talking about that rule but they know more details than I do, so I will let them answer.

Just a reminder about voting
by Simon inthere appear to be some people who are of the mistaken opinion that endlessly clicking the like or dislike button 20x will mean 20x votes.. it doesn't !!!.
only one vote is ever counted.
1 user, 1 vote, each post.

After stifling my opinions (usually strong ones) for the majority of my life when I was a witness....heck, I just like to vote. Please don't take it away Simon!

Incredible cover of book published in 1932
by Truthexplorer inok, i am reading through the book the watchtower and the masons by fritz spring meier which i am finding a fascinating read; and discovered that judge rutherford published the book 'cause of death'.
what is incredible is the book cover.
the book was published in 1932 which would have been a little bit more eye catching back then.

The painting of Eve is so very odd. Her head looks like a 6 year old's. She has NO neck. Her upper body looks 11. Her lower body looks 35. Had the person who painted this NEVER seen a naked woman before??......I guess that's very possible actually......:)

American democracy in crisis
by slimboyfat inokay cut to the chase.
the united states has got a problem.
hillary clinton is so unpopular that practically any republican who ran against her would probably have beaten her.

I think the people in the video are for real. The actor is the guy who is moderating. My God how did he not break out in laughter?!? Or even gasp occasionally?? Impressive.
It does make me wonder if these Ohioans have been drinking Flint Michigan water. I mean how do you even get that stupid. Somebody, anybody, show me footage of people in another country being that stupid. Because I've never seen anyone but Americans be that stupid and its freaking embarrassing.

Signs That Armageddon is "Any Day Now"
by Nevuela inmy "anointed" roommate told me a good one today.
as we were discussing psychotropic medications, she brought up a friend of hers who was recently forced off of "benzodiazepine" (there is no one drug by this name; rather, it is a specific classification of drug).
she claimed that many people are being forced off of the medication(s) due to "concerns over side effects," and that her friend is suffering from withdrawal on top of whatever symptoms the drug was previously helping to control (she didn't elaborate and i didn't feel comfortable asking, sorry).. my roommate then went on record to say (i'm paraphrasing here) "this is why armageddon has to happen very soon, because satan is using this system to make all these people suffer psychologically to drive them into the streets and go crazy.

Searcher, that's funny, I heard the 'China rising as a world power, end has gotta be imminent!' argument 12 years ago :).
Heaven, I was at a witness 'gathering' in 2008 during the time when people were losing their houses to foreclosures, committing suicide, losing their jobs, and a young man said 'wow, isn't this EXCITING!!! The end is upon us!!'

I believe in Evolution and that God created life
by Crabby inanyone else also hold this view or understand it at least, or do you feel the need to argue that both can in no way coexist?.
-
FayeDunaway
I believe that both coexist.
I am very interested in how life started. I was just reading an article about the possibility of life on other planets, and how they once thought conditions had to be near perfect for life...but after discovering life in very hot or cold conditions on earth, they are changing their theories on where exactly life could exist in the universe, the possibilities have broadened. But still, how does life start? There is still so, so much to learn about life and evolution. We have learned just recently that there were many different early human families, unrelated. It's not a direct line like they once thought.

Hadriel I wrote Colin a pm much like your message!
Colin, I would also like to say, that INDIVIDUALLY many witnesses are wonderful people (with really awful ones in the mix). There are many witnesses I have personally known that are just trying their best. Most of us here do not hate them at all, we still love them and wish we could still be friends. It is the organization that we don't like. The people who have studied with you are probably very nice. It is their religion which is all screwed up. It would screw up your kid's lives. Let your kids have more options for them than one little choice they HAVE to make or else.

More blasphemous, shameful attacks on the sovereignty of God!:
Every athlete competing in the Olympics this week followed a different road to Rio. But after a journey like no other, 18 year-old Yusra Mardini is making history as she swims for Olympic Gold.
Last year, as Yusra and her family fled the violence in Syria, the boat they shared with dozens of other desperate passengers started to take on water off the Turkish coast. So the teenager – a top-tier swimmer who represented Syria at the FINA World Championships in 2012 – jumped into the freezing water and started to push.
Thanks to that harrowing swim, Yusra's boat made it safely to Greece. And now, those same skills are carrying her to Rio, where she'll compete with the first-ever Refugee Olympic Team: 10 elite global athletes backed by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) and the International Olympic Committee.
Get to know Yusra and the other 9 extraordinary refugees competing at the Olympics:
#TeamRefugees is making Olympic history at a time when more people than ever – over 65 million – have been forced to leave their homes to escape conflict and persecution. For Yusra and her teammates, representing refugees on the world stage is about more than going for gold – it's also about drawing attention to the magnitude of this global crisis and to the resilience and hope of refugees.
Next month's opening of the UN General Assembly is an opportunity to step up global efforts for refugees. Let's salute the courage of these athletes by helping build support for action now.

Poor Sisters
by Darryl ini really felt for you sisters i mean i really did.
when you showed up at the sunday meeting and found out the subject of the talk was going to be -and i can't quite remember the exact wording- but something to the effect of marriage and headship, or honoring and obeying your husband, or something like that how many of you wanted to jump right back in your car and head home.
i mean 45 straight minutes of beating down you poor ladies and telling you that you are not worthy of making one decision, taking the lead in anything, don't question the man be obedient and keep quiet.

I really hope the most powerful person in the world will soon be female. And I hope when that happens, more 'sisters' decide they aren't going to take that crap anymore. We have moved from ancient times when muscle mass was important to prove ones strength to be the leader. It is still that way in wolf packs, lion prides, gorilla families. Among humans, when societies use their brains to test leadership instead of braun, is when they advance. Patriarchal societies are the least peaceful. When women are equal (or greater) there is less war and more education. When is the GB going to wake up and realize the leadership of women? It's happening all around them.
