Behold the face of indoctrination! My moms guilt tripping letter to me.
by BU2B ini wish i knew what it was like to have an unconditionally loving mother.
i know she loves me and cares about me, but only within her narrow wt spectrum.
if i do not meet her narrow expectations, i am a failure to her.

It's pretty obvious from this thread alone who really are the 'mentally diseased.' -

The clappy talk was so cheesy! I hadn't thought of that in a while.

I do think there was special implied significance that they put it into their 2014 memorial promo. But it doesn't matter that it's come and gone. They are using different tactics now to keep the faithful reeled in. I'm glad I'm not going to their joke of a communion. And nothing could ever bring me back. -

I am just dumbstruck that so many people can think exactly alike. It's like they are robots. Are these really our parents, or are they robots for the org. The org had accomplished quite a feat, they are masters of manipulation. If they are ignorant and hard headed and narrow minded, they do have amazing talents of manipulation. That is where their strength is. -

Are Jehovah's Witnesses ever "good enough", must they remain anxious and fragile for fear they will not be saved by their works?
by Trailer Park Pioneer inas a jehovah's witness you know you can never do enough without hearing stories of another witness doing twice what your doing and living off half the money your living on because they give all their time and money to the watchtower.
this is totally bunk, reading romans 7:21-24 paul knew his condition was hopeless without the free gift from god.
paul put all his emphasis on jesus christ, not some self-appointed apostles whose proof offered up is over 150 years of failed prophecy!

They change the word 'grace' to 'undeserved kindness'....that tells you a lot about their philosophy. A beautiful word is turned into a phrase that just screams 'you are guilty!! You don't deserve anything!! But here we'll throw you a bone of 'kindness' even though it is UNDESERVED!' -

What I really fear about JW.ORG
by StarTrekAngel inmuch has been written, twitted and youtubed about the extent to which the wtbts may go in order to keep its members from peeking out of the box.
from name calling, constantly telling members about the dangers of apostasy, all the way to dfing anyone who dares to look outside.
many tools and theories have been brought forward.

Unbelievable!! One day not too long ago, those publications were released with gushing enthusiasm as Jehovah's instruction for His people. Now they are an embarrassment. What they are publishing right now for this summer's releases to gushing audiences will in the not too far along future also be an embarrassment and something to be hidden. -

I Haven't Missed a Meeting in Years!
by Oubliette ini recently ran into a jw i knew from a few years back.you know how it goes, a few pleasantries that always seem much more awkward than they really should (not for me, mind you--for him).and then the question, "so what congregation are you attending?
are you able to make the meetings?
"i'm thinking: do you always start conversations this way?so anyways, knowing full well the jw-mindset, i decided to have a bit of fun.furrowing my brow, i said, "that's an odd question!

Memorial Question?
by naazira inover the years, i've come to notice that some of the friends will not touch the plate with the bread or the cup of wine ,when the emblems are being passed around.
i remember a row of 3 people told the brother to skip over them.
every year i have noticed this behavior.

It was avoiding another ludicrous memorial that got me to take action to change my religion. I swore to myself I would never pass the emblems without partaking again. I was a believer in what Christ did for people, including myself, and felt that it was rejection of him to not partake.
To your original question, I'm pretty sure they just wanted to save the usher some time. It took so long to pass those things around to everyone with usually nobody partaking. What was the point?? Just skip a few rows at a time. On the other hand, getting to touch the plate and glass when I was young was one of the few thrills of being at the KH. Pathetic :/.

Are Parents Who Shun Their Children At Risk?
by Englishman inwho looks after the welfare of ageing witness parents who have disfellowshipped children?
are these df'd children (actually, some of these df'd children are in their 60's) meant to ignore being ignored and then care physically for their non speaking parents?
also, can df'ing your own children lead to witness parents suffering illness or even death as a result?.

Lyin- someday maybe your fathers third daughter will leave the religion too. There's a good chance of that. Maybe that will wake your father up. At least if that happens you can have another sister and hopefully won't blame her for your fathers favoritism. He really sucks and you deserve better.
We all deserve better. we deserve parents who love us unconditionally. I wrote my mother recently a text, 'I love you' she wrote back 'thank you.'

Who leaves first, the husband or wife?
by snugglebunny inwhen it comes to a simple matter of no longer believing the teachings of jw's, it appears to me that it's more common for the husband to make the first move to leave the religion.

I don't think women become 'more productive'when multitasking (who does??).but I think we handle multitasking better than men do. If I tell my husband to do more than one thing at a time his brain practically visibly starts overheating. i can remember to pick up different children from different activities all in a row, he can not. he is a terrible driver while talking on the phone. Actually, all men I've seen are terrible drivers while talking on the phone. Women not so bad. Not that I support that in either case.
