DA letter sent... It was weird!
by Mandrake inwell i was telling you days ago that i wrote my da letter... i decided to deliver it myself to the elders.
it'a been about a year i didn't show up nor talk to the majority of old friends.
one of my best friends (who's is 2-3 years older than me, i'm 25) is now an elder... some times i don't understand him, he's an engineer from a prestigious university (the most prestigious universities here in chile, are 2, the one from where he got his degree and the one i'm attending)... he even red crisis of conscience and has doubts... but still endured inside.. my congo were based in our historic city downtown, so our territory was small... i parked my car near the hall and walked near for a while while the meeting was over.

Mandrake, remember only the good things about those people. That old sister who was kind to you, your neighbor friend. They would still have their good qualities without that cult, and you can dwell on them as people, in your memories, and not say goodbye to that part of them, in your heart. Does that make sense? It sounds like your life will go very well and I am happy for you. -

My cat died suddenly!
by Fisherman ini did not realize that they were symptoms that something was wrong with my cat -but i did notice that my cat was breathing a little differently for a period of about a few days.
i also noticed prior and after to that, that on occasion, my cat would cry at the litter box, but that was a very seldom event.. anyway, about a week ago i noticed the symptom that my very loved cat was breathing heavy.
so i called a taxi and i was going to rush him to emergency room for cats.

Fisherman I am so sorry for your loss, I know what it's like. Every day afterwards, you look around at all your pet's favorite places but they are not there. I would strongly recommend getting another cat soon. They will not replace the one you lost, but it will occupy your mind, and another cat needs your home and your love, and you have an empty space to fill. .♥ -

I lied to the elders
by atacrossroads ini stopped attending meetings all together in january 2015. before that my attendance was irregular at best.
my husband followed suit a few months ago after months of research, agony, and indecision on his part.
from the very beginning i laid low and did not share with anyone what i found out about the witnesses because i did not want to be df'd.

Also just remember you do not have to feel guilty about any of this. It is NOT your fault. Your parents brought you up in a cult and as an intelligent human being you had to live your own life and leave. Don't feel guilty about anything. It's tragic and heartbreaking and so frustrating, but it isn't your fault. -

Celebrating for the first time!
by stephanie61092 inokay i'm so excited, i'm celebrating valentines day today!
i walk into work this morning (normally a sterile office filled with boring engineers like myself) to find everyone clad in decorative hearts with streamers hanging from the ceiling and heart shaped goodies in the kitchen.
had i walked in on this last year, i would've kept my head low and tried to avoid all conversation unless it was strictly about work.

Yeah kate, I just learned about Shrove Tuesday for the first time!
My first couple years out, I remember getting SO excited all year, as soon as one holiday was over I was like WHATS NEXT?!?!? I was like a little kid. It's fun to dress in the colors of the holiday and bake goodies that are themed etc :). -

So happy for you and your daughter and your friends, too! You guys will always have eacother, no matter what happens, and they will always understand all the weirdness that comes with being a part of that cult, and leaving it. -

How many here (believers) believe in the Hell fire doctrine and why??
by jam init's obvious the bible is very clear on a actual hell of fire.
"cursed into the eternal fire with the devil and his angels", rev.20:15.
"lake of fire", rev.21:8 "fire and brimstone".

My church speaks of hell as simply a 'separation from God.' Personally I don't know what it is or how literally the references to fiery hell in the bible should be taken. Im not worried about it and i believe God is merciful. For me, those who call down judgment to hell on others are just as guilty of sin, by their self righteousness, as whoever they are judging. -

12 signs you are a modern day Pharisee
by Zoos ini was reading through this list and was struck by how accurately it describes the watchtower royalty class.
not exactly a professional doing the writing but i think he captures it pretty well.. http://frankpowell.me/12-signs-you-are-modern-day-pharisee.

But especially jw's, believer. You could say the above things about a few people from many faiths. However you could say the above things about the whole of the JW faith, from the top down. It IS their belief system and these things are not discouraged but encouraged and common practice. -

1. Beth Sarim. That jw's could be taught all about JW history so selectively, and leave out this major story that was even published in LIFE magazine, with a picture of Rutherford in his mansion, which he was 'safekeeping' for the prophets who were supposedly going to be resurrected (in 1925?). 2. That the history of their 1914 doctrine is so twisted by themselves, hiding the very embarrassing details, including how Russel substantiated the evidence by counting the feet of the passages inside the Great Pyramid. 3.That people hurt by watchtower rules and doctrine were not only in my own congregation, but prevalently throughout the world, and much worse, and that families are being torn apart on a global scale, every day, resulting in one resounding unified cry of heartache as a result of associating with JW's. 4. That 607 wasnt when Babylon was destroyed, but the watchtower can't update their incorrect date because it undermines their whole schpeil. 5. That JW's are a cult. Cult cult culty cult C-U-L-T CULT!
And one for extra credit!6. Miracle wheat!
