RIP Dansk (aka Ian), 18.12.1953- 20.12.2008

i need to let you know that dad passed away this morning at 8am.
he fought so hard but in the end they could not get his blood pressure to rise and he died of heart failure.

Such awful hearbreaking news - Your dad was such a lovely person and as others have said, he was an inspiration for many trying the leave the Cult. He accomplished many good things and will be missed by us all.
We will try to be there at the funeral, please keep us informed.

I used to be in the Thornton Heath (Surrey) cong. and went to Crystal Palace, even helped clean the stadium !
Also went to Twickenham and Dorking a number of time (all during the seventies)
The main thing that I remember was just how difficult it was to keep awake, esp in the afternoons.

Ran into old JW friend in the airport...Correspondence has ensued...
by Confession init was the same weekend that my mom and dad, to my surprise, agreed to meet with me.
i was in midland, michigan, about a month ago, only an hour or so from where they live.
in the airport on monday morning, in walked john, someone i remembered well from the jw congregation of my youth.

I just wanted to say THAT WAS AN EXCELLENT RESPONSE. You certainly must have spent a lot of time composing the letter.
I know how frustrating it can be when you come across JWs and inactive JWs who seem afraid to look into anything about the Organisation, unless they have been given permission! We too have come across the same situations - unfortunately my own brother is just the same. I gave him a copy of the letter that we had received from the United Nations regarding the Watchtower involvement for 10 years, and still he would not believe it.

What did you think in -95?
by Samuel Thorsen inwhen i first read about wts having "new ligth" on the 1914-generation issue in the newspaper i was shocked.
(some evil apostates had been helpful and informed the paper weeks before i got my november issues of the wt.).

Like most of the comments, I really can't remember much about this Generation change, and even less about the sorting of the sheep and the goats! What is that all about????
I was in the Org for over thirty years, but must have left my brain at home for that meeting!
It wasn't until we came across the UN scandal that the penny began to drop - now we're well and truly out from there

Bible Study Student With A Ton of Questions

i am currently about half way through the 'what does the bible really teach?
" and have been attending both sunday services and ministerial school for 3 months.. my biggest problem is that, being a researcher by nature, "verifying that all things are true," i have also been researching the organization which has stumbled me greatly.

You certainly have come to the right place to ask questions.
We (my husband & I) were in the JWs for over thirty years each, but we found out about the UN, and asked two elders about it, giving them both copies of the letters received directly from the UN, they never got back to us. We wrote to the London Bethel and the body of elders in the congregation, asking such questions re: UN, Failed Prophecies, Pedophilia in the Organisation and it's cover-up, U-turn on Blood etc. We never received a reply from them, a short time later we were disassociated, and are now totally shunned by everyone who knew us over all those years.
Listen to your own doubts, research further but get out of the cult before they take hold of you.
I look forward to hearing more from you
