A VERY BIG THANK-YOU FOR ALL OF THE EXCELLENT COMMENTS AND LINKS. I have made notes of your comments and checked all the links. My printer has been working overtime ! Our letter is ready now (7 pages long) and will be posted first to some friends in the cong, and a day or two later to Elders & MSs.

thank you for sharing your letter with us, it was very moving. I hope you don't mind if I print it out and put it into our file, which is getting bigger every day. Yes, the elders in particular have lots to answer for and one day they will be made to answer to Jehovah for all of their cruel ways.
We too are at the point of sending our letter which is very hard-hitting (7 pages long) we have taken over one year to get all the info together and we are going to make sure that we "go out in a blaze of glory". It's good that you have made your letter open to ones other than the elders, cos' we know how they quickly slam a "Shunning Order" on ones, in order to keep the rank and file in subjection.
As others have said, your love for your dad shines through in your letter. He would be very proud of you.

can anyone tell me how to find the information proving that the jws have dealings with the un and that they are in fact members.
i went on the un main website but i could not find anything.
i tried their search engine and nothing came up.. please help!.

I too couldn't believe that the witnesses could have been involved with the UN - but we did research with the help of lots on this forum, and yes it is definately true. My husband telephoned the UN in New York (we are in England) and they confirmed it, we then wrote to them and asked for written confirmation, and they wrote back and confirmed it, and then we emailed them and yes - they emailed back to confirm it. I have even kept their envelope that the letter was sent in, as it gives the postmark and the UN logo and details. Of course, once you get this confirmation for yourself then you will no doubt dig deeper and find lots more scandals and unchristian things that have and are being done. What an eye-opener !

I have recently read on this site, about the latest thinking by the Org. - ...something like allowing the doctor's to make the decision... letting some-else take the blame, and of course freeing the Org. from any litigation that may occur. Can anyone remember this subject and if possible let me have the link

here is the letter of disassociation of one who was "my best" student when serving the borg.
we studied together for more than 2 years.
she got baptized and was doing pioneering hours slaving the borg.since my disassociation she has been scrutinizing the borg and she has been out for a while.now she is keen to disassociate herself from this cult.. so, here is her letter, and i hope that it can serve as an example for those who think about doing the same.. 1 march 2003. .

Thanks so much for posting your friend's letter.
It's good to hear of some-one who has got the principles to stand up to mere men.
After six months of waiting for replies to our questions, (UN Paedophilia, False Prophecies etc.) and not one phone call from any elders during that period, we (myself and husband Kaytee) have now decided to take the "bull by the horns" and write our letter of disassociation, but will definately not be using the word "disassociation". We cannot see the association with the word "disfellowshipping" although the Org. try to link these two words as one and the same.
Some of the points in your friend's letter, will be very useful, and we will be borrowing them !
Our close friends have just been disassociated by the judicial committee - IN THEIR ABSENCE !!! they were not even informed before the statement was read out in the KH - we fully expect to be the next ones, after they receive our letter, but we are going to make sure that our letter reaches others before reaching the elders :) Then at least many people will know the true reasons for our absence.

ive just completed the reading of greg staffords latest book, "the three dissertations on the teachings of jehovahs witnesses.
" although i appreciate his point-of-view overall, i find that his writing is often difficult to follow and at worst, not forthright on doctrinal issues.
basically, i find his writings rather anemic, hes just not forthright; he evidently doesnt want to be dfd!

i can honestly .
i can honestly say that i never saw the effects of love /care /consideration / especialy christian love ,but i did experience fickle type backbiting friendships /jealousy/and greed followed by me,ismn charity was never present.the need or concern for others not of the faith was totaly lacking , in retrospect we led our lives, only ocasionaly offering a few ponds to charitys, only if a collector pushed or shook a tin within your face ,.
the reason being that the kingdom work must come first regardless of all the inhuman suffering exploding around you, hunger starvation,death ,pain .

Your comments are spot on ! Yes, we were made to feel that the New System would be the answer to all of earth's woes and as such we were almost made to feel guilty if we supported any charity, and of course we always had to make sure that the charity was not in anyway related to Babylon the Great.
This sort of brainwashing took the humanity out of us, and in many cases left us appearing to be very cold people.
It's great now to feel free to show christian love without any strings attached.

i would like to hear some of the strangest or most ridiculous thing you got in trouble with the elders for.
here is mine.. back in the early 70's i was married at the age of 18, typical witness thing to do.
my husband who was 6 years older than i ruled me like a overly strict father.
My husband was taken off the "Privilege" of carrying a microphone at meetings, 'cos he wasn't wearing a suit, he was in fact wearing jacket and trousers, but as they were of different material, it didn't count as a suit! How ridiculous can you get. We still can't believe that we were guillible to put up with all of the mind-controlling rules, dished out by these men (Men ?)

i am desperately searching fo rthe bible qoute which tells you that you shall recognize his people by the love amongst themselves.. i have not found any love amongst any witnesses in our hall, never ever...and we have attended this hall for nearly 2 years.
i am still a study, my hubby grew up in the truth.
elders are coming over tomorrow night to discuss our lack of meeting attendance.

I can assure you that the lack of love you speak of, is not specific to your congregation, I'm sure you know !
We have found it here in our cong. too. For example, a disabled sister has had to sit in a draughty downstairs foyer (the main hall is up stairs with no means for disabled to get there - no lift, no chairlift etc.) She has sat in that room for over 6 years , most of the time accompanied by one or two others (at the most) she has now decided not to go to meetings anymore, and is now being shunned.
They are a cruel and heartless lot, believe me, you and your husband are better off out of there !
