  the 5/14/06 watchtower study

  i was watching my wife study the watchtower saturday and sunday morn before leaving for the hall, she had a couple of questions about the ethiopian enuch (spelling) and phillip.

  i asked her honey, think a second are you able to read a book or mag while driving in the car on faily good roads, and of course her answer was no.

  why i asked she said its too hard to, the bumping the movement of the car/truck etc throws the words off all the time.

  Holy Freaking Cow... I made it!

  yeah, i made it.. i volunteered for the us army wayyyy back in october - graduated from basic in december, and have spent the last 20 weeks struggling to get through the officer candidate program at ft. benning.

  yep.

  i'm going to graduate in about a week and become a 2lt.. the experience has really helped me get a lot of perspective on my former life as a jw, and i am pretty excited about the new life that's in front of me.

  They are so scared of us

  i remember the other day, someone i'd been friends with for ages asked me if i was an apostate and saw me as an evil influence.

  he spoke of what goes on at these sites (as my mum does and other dubs) not realising its just like anywhere, good folks and not good folks.. you ever had a dub scared of ya?

  For those who have old parents, how do you cope with them getting old?

  when i speak to my old dad, i have to repeat about 3 times because he is deaf in one ear, but also he likes to make everyone repeat, becuse it's a bad habit he always had.

  he always did that even when he had good hearing.

  it's as if he has to see me to understand me.

  YEP! That's what I said, They're just getting even with you, and you will get even with your kids, and your kids will get even with their's. It's called the generation gap.

  well, this takes the cake....i just heard an interview during the kentucky derby preshow, serina williams was being interviewed and was asked if she was going to bet, she said," i don't know anything about it so i' asked the man behind me to tell me which horses and i'll just pay the money.".

  now you can bet and be in good standing..

  Infiltration by Apostates

  i mentioned recently that i belong to a pro-jehovah's witness forum and how they were having internal problems requiring the lockdown of a thread for a 24 hour cooling period.

  someone on the forum admitted that it caused their posting to drop.

  now, they are beset with another problem.

  It really amazes me how JWs feel so threatened by apostates. Do they have something to hide? Sure they do they don't anyone knowing what really is going on in the organization.

  I disagree, I feel that the average R&Fer has no idea about what is really going on in the organization.

  I was a dubby for 30+ years. I lost a son to Luekemia and a wife to cancer. I was threatened by apostates because it was the in thing to do, stick your head in the sand, don't listen. We were not even allowed to have a aurgument at the door. If the house holder did not agree with us we shook the dust off and left. It didn't have anything to do with not wanting any outsider to know what went on within the Congregation..

  Hell I didn't know anything about the inner workings of the organization. I didn't associate with any of the elite . I stayed away from the CO, DO, even though I was an elder. Ididn't even know they got clothing allowance and slave wages for the first 25 years.

  So it boiled to this: ignorance is bliss, maintain a group mentality, Us against the world.

  Now, only those who knew the inner workings of the GB and who is loyal to the org. are afraid that the outside world will learn the secret. If we learn and disagree we are DFed.

  So they are threatened because they are told to be afraid of those who disagree especially known ex JWs who tried to advance their view point.
