I spent 35 years in the org. I didn't read much of anything outside of the orgs. crap...When I quit I looked back over the past 35 years and came to a conclusion that I did not know anything more today than I did when I first got baptized. It was the same stuff packaged and repackaged with the same ole phrases and mind controll messages.

Studying all over again
by ozziepost inana raised a very moot point on an earlier thread and so i thought i'd bring it up for discussion.
(see, ana, i don't always go back to where i last was!!!).
anyway, the points made were these:.

I find it that I can talk about the rules and regulations to anybody but it is useless because those that are not JWs can not comprehine what I am telling them and the JWs just are too closed minded to listen and those that will listen to you haven't a clue of what you are talking about because they just got baptized to please mama and daddy. They never studied, just scanned the info to answer at the meetings.

Repentance
by picosito init used to amaze me when i was an elder on a judicial committee trying to find an attitude of repentance in the wrongdoer and there never was any!!!
so we elders figured maybe it was us, that we were not recognizing it, and were successful in squeezing out from the person something that faintly resembled repentance so we didn't have to give them the boot.
most of these were "good people" in the congregation, not visibly nasty ones that we could axe easily.. now i know why the lack of repentance.

Nobody gave a damn!!! Good riddance to the WTS and its "educational" program and thanks for this site!!!
i'm lost! what do you mean.
I think everybody cared...I just beleive that the ones that were caught were more intelligent than the elders or jc, They realized that the borg had flipped flopped on everything so many times that they decided to do what they wanted to do.
how many times can the borg change their position on what is right and what is wrong. Then those that was dfed for something years ago were never let back in under a retroactive ruling when the ruling changed.
Everybody cared just about different things.
Most of us elders knew we were not appointed by holy spirit, we knew it was we kissed ass to a degree that the po suggested and sometimes twisted the others arms. When the game was over we all went home, some slept, some didn't. I never voted for a dFing.

EX-JW Activism, anything new?
by Mindchild inive seen posts here and there in the past months on this board that talk about ex-dub activism but i hate to admit this but most of the activities mentioned are rather ineffective in really doing anything but making us ex-dubs feel collectively better.. we have discussed protesting at conventions, making a protest walk, peeing on c.t.
russells grave, playing some games at local kingdom halls, and playing mind games with dubs online.
i really dont have anything against these forms of activism but i dont think they accomplish much.. what i therefore dare suggest and beg for your comments are new ideas of how we can redirect our anger more effectively and support actions and causes that sting the borg like hell and also help others out the door.. i have nothing but praise for the actions of people who take a stand like silent lambs, or others who have setup informative ex-dub websites and i think one good thing we could do is support these efforts by doing some fund raising.. i also would love to stick something right up the ass of the gb but im trying to think of just how to do it.

I suggest that we all leave this forum for a year come back and see if we have progress to a degree that we no longer need to discuss the borg.
I tend to let the past slip away until I visit this board then all my "I want to get even attitude" comes back.

Jerome,
Best to find another love....You have to be carefull of falling for an exJW, due to the fact they may @ sometime go back ...If you are interested in a JW the only way it will work is if you become one and give your braine to the org. Now that will work just become a Jehovah zombi.
Choices, choices, choices! "Oh what a web we weave." "'Come in,come in,'the spider said to the fly."

I always hated the conventions. They seemed to come at the wrong time every year...We were always just digging out finacially from the one tyhe year before.
In the latter years I refused to go. It got to be such a hassel.
Too bad we can not wave a wand over our family and friends and all the society foolisnish would go away... -

df vs disassociation
by freebird incan someone provide me some insight or past experience with the pros and cons to disassociating oneself versus getting disfellowshipped?
besides the obvious of not having to deal with the lynch squad.
thanks for you comments.

if you were never baptized you can not be DAed or DFed...all you can be is marked as bad association....
weak, and have your reputation ruined by morons.
Actually you should feel blessed that you are left alone... -
