When you DA your still following their rules. (though it does give finality and a clean break) I DAd and I don't think I followed their rules, it was on my terms and time. I just wanted them out of my life ASAP; afterall,I had been in that congo some thirty years. Elder and the whole ball of wax. The letter is just to keep from having to lie everytime you run into some dude. Hell new things new friends, no lying no talltales.If you are fading, that's good, but you'll always be looking over your shoulder.

Disassociate or "Fade"
by done4good ini know this has probably been discussed before, but i would like to take a poll of your thoughts as to what you personally would do, disassociate yourself or just fade over time.
i've been in the process of "fading" myself since november of last year, (last meeting in january, and never going back).

Brooklyn Says they Need 40,000 qualified Brotheres
by drew sagan ini just mentioned this in another post but thought i would start a new thread about it.
my wife reminded me a few days ago that the bethel speaker at our convention stated that "the organization is in need of more than 40,000 qualified brothers to take the lead".
this basically means that brooklyn is saying that every congregation in the world is down 1 - 1.5 qualified brothers(?

Gary you're right, but they can't stand and pee; therefore, Unquailfied! Now if they practise standing and peeing and accomplish that then certainly they can be quailified to be an elder but not before. If you don't beleive me ask LDH, she is peeing in KFC box and started from the age of six.

Dis-association letter

i don't know exactly how to write my letter to dis-associate myself and exactly who i should send it too.
i was readding somethings before that had talked about people sending a copy to there old friends to let them know as well.

Once the elders see "I am informing you that I no longer desire to be recognized as a Jehovah's Witness", they stop reading because they are not interested in any reason why...It is based on "Do you believe the Faithfull and Discreet slave is God's channel on Earth." You could prepare a totally Grade A manuscript with referances and perlouge and prolouges and it would be just a waste of your time and energy. If you want to give a reason, just state, "I no longer believe the F&D slve is used by Jehovah as his agent to dispense proper food at the proper time, because they continue to replace new light with old light and retread all the teachings.

Personally, I feel sorry for the CO. He put his complete trust in something and not in God. I was just as naive as he was. My God was the org. I put my faith and hope in that org. I wish there was a way to expose the WTS to the world as being a greedy, self serving hypocritical for profit charity, and real estate conglomorate for what it is.

computer experience
by Cabin in the woods ini did not know if i should start this with a simple statement or request who would be willing to be a guidance counselor!
either tomorrow or monday i am going to be contacting a couple of the local small colleges and see if i could talk to someone about a career with web design.
the other thought would be mediation.
