Well, Hooberus, I guess you finally admitted that you are not discussing the same subject as the rest of us. Congratulations. We are all now dumber for participating.

fortune tellers
by Ellie in.
an old gypsy lady just came to my door and asked if she could tell my fortune, as i'm still freaked out by stuff like that i made the excuse of not being able to afford it, she told me as i have such a great future ahead of me she will tell me for free, and then proceeded to tell me something about my family which given the age of my mum could be believed and then told me something really good (however, shes told me not to tell anyone else as this will break my luck).. if it was you, would you believe her?

Hooberus,
>> My point thusfar is simply that it can be included in evolution (see for example Simpson).
Sure, and Evolution can be included in Cosmology, but then all you are doing is talking to yourself because everyone else in the conversation is talking about the Theory of Evolution while you are trying to confuse the subject with your fuzzy expanded concept of "evolution". You can't have an intelligent conversation if you're talking about something completely different than the rest of the group is.

Do Must Dubs Have Pre-Marital Sex?
by tall penguin init's not often talked about but in my experience a lot of witnesses have sex (or something like it) during their courtship.
and most of them never go to the elders about it.
recent case in point: my dear friend got married this past summer.

My ex-wife and I had premarital sex. There was so much guilt - mostly on her part, but somehow I convinced her that it was none of the elder's business. It was just between us and god... and I figured he was a pretty forgiving fellow.
The crappy thing is that the guilt lingered way into the marriage - once in a while there would be a talk that encouraged going to the elders to confess sins. It was pretty rough until we both stopped believing in the borg.

>> One of the most disturbing attitudes of most evolutionists is their insistence on naturalism as the premise for explaining everything from the origin of the cosmos to the origin of the human soul. The fact is that total naturalism is quite devoid of real explanatory power for almost anything.
Wow, just when I thought you couldn't get any dumber.
Do you suggest that the naturalistic explanation of gravity has no explanatory power? I suppose we should just forget about Relativity and just say God moves every atom around by hand.
And how does saying "God did it" explain anything? It's a *non-explanation*. Don't know the answer? Say "God did it"... no need for pesky research!
What a joke. Isn't it more honest to say "We don't know" than to make up mystical explanations or simply believe ancient myths?
Your post is a sad example of irrationalism. Grow up and get educated you pathetic fundy.

When we were kids my brother and sister and I got Gremlins coloring books - based on the movie. I'm not sure how we convinced our mom to let us have them since Gremlins were little demons.
Anyway, the next day the babysitter was watching us as we were coloring. We took a drive in her beat-up car (was it also a gremlin?) and when we parked the engine wouldn't stop. Of course we had our coloring books with us and the babysitter made the connection that the Gremlins were keeping the car from turning off.
She literally went hysterical and threw our books all over the lawn and started praying. We were freaked out at how scared she was of these little coloring books.
Well, the next door neighbor saw the commotion and came over. He happened to be a mechanic and was also an elder in our hall. He fixed the car in a jiffy and just kinda smiled and nodded when the babysitter explained the gremlin-car malfunction connection. LOL

Hooberus,
I think we've gone back and forth long enough for anyone with any interest in the topic to come to a conclusion on who's arguments are more compelling.

Hooberus,
The Theory of Evolution (all caps) is just a theory of mechanisms. Evolution as a concept does come with more connotations, but even then it doesn't include origins other than the fact the evolution of life had a start.
>> And as I have explained Evolution can include the origin of life, as George Gaylord Simpson wrote: "The origin of life was necessarily the beginning of organic evolution and it is among the greatest of all evolutionary problems." - opening sentence chapter 2 "The Meaning of Evolution" 1949)
I don't care what Dr. Simpson's personal views were. We are talking about mainstream views... not unrepresentative views from a half century ago. Seeing that the quote is so old, he was probably referring to what we now call abiogenesis... he just used some confusing language since the concept or discipline as branch of science didn't exist yet.
