Basically in order to avoid awkward questions he needs you to start making progress towards baptism , this is peer pressure by the other elders etc , draw it out as long as possible just put in the "hour " and start building some savings and looking at employment as you will be facing homelessness when you come of age as that is what was being encouraged at last year's convention .

My Dad wants to study with me
by BlackWolf inso my parents continue to pester me about getting baptized.
the other day my dad told me that i was old enough to make a decision, and was wondering why i wasn't ready (assembly is in a few weeks) so i told him calmly that i have many doubts and if i were to get baptized it has to be 100 percent my idea.
he was a little annoyed by this, and now wants to study the "is there a creator that cares about you" book (which is complete bs) with me.

Nobody should be baptized untill at least 18 years old into a religion that has policies that could lead them to being ostrasised when they have grown up.

well, i was searching for new watchtower articles trying to debunk, for instance, human evolution.
so, i did my homework, for the first time, so as to read past and updated papers and books on human evolution.

I was on the ministry with a brother while I was still a active " publisher " and he said to a householder we don't believe in evolution , the man looked at us like we were a pair of idiots , I had to chip in and say we do as I had been studying micro evolution /adaptation at the time and it sounds really dumb saying I don't believe in evolution full stop . I just lack knowledge of macro evolution at the minute as I've never read up on that as I've only read the society's publications on it
