  i work with a JW and he doesnt know im an inactive

  so i started working at this place 4 years ago.. and i am usually myself a still-in inactive atheist jw at work.

  after several months i came to realize the guy i work with is a devout jw... im always afraid of running into him in the conventions.. he is in a different circuit but im afraid he might show up in one of the district conventions.. i am dreading that day...

  I worked with a guy for years who was a Jehovah Witness. He played the different

  congregation game for a few years , attending different congregation game till they just assumed he was attending the other one till he faded.

  When I met my wife and was having problems with nosey elders I tried to ask him about it. He was all , it is wonderful to be a JW, We are the truth, blah blah blah. Little did I know at the time he was just scared I was going to blow his cover. I guess the elders ruined his marriage years ago.

  I have seen him around a few times on sunday morning with a suit on but he isn't in the hall. I think he found another church and no longer cares. He is an absolute prince of a man.

  I am of the opinion that a firefighter is a job where no special accommodation should be made under any circumstance. The ability to do your job depends on your ability to follow orders without question.

  From what understand he is suing because the other firefighters in his unit, house, whatever it is called are not very nice to him and he feels it is a hostile workplace.................heck you could even say he is being shunned.

  You are rude and disrespectful to fellow co-workers , community and country and repay them with a lawsuit ?? Because you believe they are hostile towards you ? It’s like calling someone “false religion “ and wondering why you get doors slammed in your face.

  Freaking parasite. For people that claim to be no part of the world they sure don’t mind filing needless lawsuits looking for a free meal.

  I worked with a dub one time and told him with complete seriousness we have a vacant room in the back that can be used for spiritual proposes so if you ever need to worship those men in Brooklyn feel free.

  He wasn’t impressed but I still keep playing stupid.

  Oh, Sorry, I you guys were about seven magical men or something like that.

  Do Kingdom Hall congregations communicate with each other?

  when asked, my mom denies that they do.... do local congregations pass along gossip or reports on householders in the area?

  specifically, i am wondering if they might report on (unbaptized) family members that live in other towns?.

  since the abrupt ending of my bs with miss k, i have not heard from the jw's at all.

  When I studied I was place with literally the most arrogant and pompous assholes I have ever met. Being raised in an evangelical church it is pretty easy to dismantle the WTS and show how ridiculously stupid it all is. It is funny how you never hear of a pastor, priest or University level theology teacher ever becoming a JW.

  After about 7-8 studies, he didn’t seem to interested in talking to me anymore. Me and the girlfriend got married and we moved away, she was marked of course. She moved to a new cong, got unmarked. I make a token effort time to time to keep the peace at home.

  Not a single person has approached me about a study. Too bad, I love to talk about bible theology. The difference between a parable and the prophecy, who the angel of the lord in the old testament was, the plurality of god in the old testament and how it is explained in the book of john, how quotes using the divine name are used in the new testament, the difference between the physical nation of Israel and the church, mosic law and the law of Christ, the difference between the old and new conevent.

  Not a single taker.

  Sorry for bumping this thread but isn’t it depressing being a religion where no super freaky shit ever happens. Not saying I am not somewhat of a skeptic but I am like Mulder from the X-files, I want to believe. ( Near Death Experiences, Faith healing, various miracles).

  Come to think of it, sometimes someone will say something so stupid in the KH it really makes me believe there are demons around.

  I'm confused about the Memorial? Great crowd?

  this was my first memorial thinking outside of the box.

  last year i was starting to have questions but this is the first year i noticed a lot of bs.

  can anyone clarify a few things for me?.

  You need to understand two things

  1. Any Christian sect that has there entirely theology all tied together by the book of revelations is really bad news. No one is completely sure what it all means.

  2. The WTS has no concept of what the new testament is all about. Judaism to Christianity, the law of Moses to the law of grace, the nation of Israel to the body of Christ ( the church ), saves though works to being saved though faith.

     Once you understand the big picture, it makes the WTS bamboozal just freakin stupid with the earth hopers and heavenly hopers and the faithful slavers that can only understand the bible.

  so tomorrow is going to be my last encounter with a jw friend of mine for various reasons on her side.

  (long story).

  i have spent a lot of time discussing various concerns about the jw teachings, but havent been able to make any progress in helping her to question or doubt the teachings.

  I had a chat with an elder the other day about the new understanding about Mog and Magog. He basically told me a group of nations from central Asia to North Africa would come to together in a final battle against gods people in a final battle once all religion was illegal.

  I then told him in the bible Israel and the church are two different things. This group of nations is coming together to destroy the Jewish people in the land of Israel. If you look at the trouble in the world today ( Yemen, Syria, Libya, Iraq ) where do you think this all leading ??

  For people that are so in love with doomsday with the end being so near, their actual beliefs on the subject are actually quite stupid in light of the events of today. I just saw a glimmer wow we are stupid in his eyes.

  If the witness in question is just in love with the doomsday situation ( some are, some are not ) it is good way to plant a seed.

  Worst Memorial Talk Ever!

  i honestly have never heard such claptrap being delivered in a memorial talk.. the speaker repeatedly put down the way other religions administered the bread & wine, and claimed that witnesses do it exactly as the bible describes.

  oh yeah????.

  he forgot to mention - when reading aloud 1 corinthians 11:25 - that after passing the bread, a full meal was to be shared, before the wine was passed around!

  I just love how year after year there are just huge theological gaps in the memorial talk.

  “ The bible clearly shows us there is two hopes for mankind, An earthly hope and a heavenly hope “.

  “ Who partakes of the new covenant ?? Well those with the heavenly hope “.

  “ How can be benefit from the new covenant ? Well being associated with those in it “.

  I know the majority of people here are atheist/agnostic but I love bible theology. You would literally have to be a freakin retard to believe what the WTS teaches. They literally have no concept of the new testament.
