  man: we want to be free, and want no god telling us how to live.. god: fine, do your own thing.. after numerous murders, genocide, and other evils, we hear this:.

  man: i can't believe in a god who would allow all this evil to happen .

  and not intervene to prevent it.. god: why not?

  Incredibly shortsighted indeed! I left the ORGANIZATION, not Jehovah.., in fact I decided to draw closer to God by staying away from the WT hierarchy and now...the truth has set me free! I don't do the underhanded things anymore while being a witness, and many more things which I would prefer not to mention on this board...
  Yes ThiChi, I used to think like you, believing that the Borg was spirit directed, then I used my God given free will and intelligence and found out there is life outside the Watchtower but inside God's heart....

  Types of People we loved to hate (Love less)

  there are always one or two outstandingly idiotic people in any cogregation.. there is always someone who never gets ill, needs only 3 hours sleep,.

  works fulltime and pioneers and never understands why others arent doing the same .. there always the hall big mouth who says stupid things to people like .

  "you look so much better now with that new haircut , you looked so old/worldly/ugly/fat whatever before".

  Sorry about what happened Shelly! I guess they appoint some elders by "broken" spirit instead of holy spirit. In your case he may have been voted in because of patronage or worse, he may have given favors to another elder(s) so he can be appointed and be part of their political boys club... I hope you're now as far away as possible from this man!

  As was already mentioned, Ray left the Borg in 1980. The WT got involved with the UN in 1991 and perhaps there may have been some discussion before 1991 as to why this involvement would be to the Borg's "benefit". So in view of this, we can hardly expect Ray to elaborate to us about the inner workings of the GB relative to the UN-fiasco, since he already left the organization for the better part of 10 years.
  Yes, Ray has done a lot for all of us, as without his input we may not be much wiser and have in-depth information about the goings on behind closed doors at the WT. Additionally, Ray's style of writing is very concise and to the point without showing the bravado or sensationalism where most other writers would have otherwise indulged in partly if not primarily for the sake of material benefit. Yet Ray showed extreme modesty and candor in both of his books without any vindictiveness and sensationalism at all. He is to be applauded for all his work, as my life would not have turned out for the better if he did not bring this informative revelation to the fore. Surely he must have been blessed by God in doing so....

  The Watchtower will eventually be faced with a genuine crisis of gigantic proportions. With the onset of internet technology all doubting minds will have to be opened sooner or later, realizing that the Society is nothing more than an organization of frail humans, having originally taken a utopian direction for the good of all mankind at first, but having fallen into the inevitable trap of power, money and control. Yes, the internet will be there to take away the last stone of a "make-believe empire" in order for all to see the destruction of the false prophet called the WTBTS.
  Remember in the 50's hardly anyone had a television set, now virtually each household has one or more tv-sets in their home because that's a "normal" thing to have nowadays. Likewise and even more so with the internet where very few people had access to it not so long ago, yet they estimate that within the next 5 years or so, one third of the global population will use the internet as an important means of getting general information of all sorts. So you see, as metatron brought out, the chipping away is currently in full force and it's just a matter of time before they will be exposed for their deceit and hypocrisy....

  gettogethers disguised as X-mas parties...?

  when you were a jw, how many of you actually went to a gathering of some sorts, which could have been called a disguised x-mas- or new years eve party among witnesses?

  we always had parties and large dinners with them during this time, as a lot of witnesses were somewhat despondent or lonely because of the festivities going on in the "world".... appreciate your thoughts about this!.

  What is the most important thing to know?

  if there was just one piece of information you could pass on to another what is the most important thing you can think of that a person should know?.

  i would say "never stop learning".. also what subject gives the most enlightenment on life ?.

  i would say physics as everything branches from there.

  When you set out to do something worthwhile, whether it be a goal you set to any honorable task you embark on, never ever give up. Never let your dreams be shattered by anybody else as Mulan said - just think of men and women like Edison, Henry Ford or Joan of Arc and many others who all set a goal (unattainable by many standards) but stuck to their dream to accomplish an extraordinary thing in life and they were successful in all they accomplished! A good lesson for us indeed...

  You certainly highlighted the spirit of the WTBTS, where it is more important to follow the manifesto of Watchtower doctrine than embracing the principles of love found in the bible.
  Yes, just as Patio34 aptly pointed out: we all have come to recognize what the Society stands for....a cold embrace indeed, and from that coldness we have fled into the light of understanding and compassion....
