Welcome, Arrakis!
Awesome revelation....people in the world are not all that bad. LOL
Ain't that something? I remember the moment I had that epiphany. Hang on for the ride, you'll have more of those moments.
was a jw for 40 years.
stopped attending 2010...resigned officially in 2011. still a little shell shocked but beginning to feel much better now.

i'd just like to say hello and welcome to one of our newest members, vangogh.... though he [she?
] hasn't posted a "hello" thread yet, here is his first post with a mini-autobiography.... http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/240404/1/all-things-given-to-us.
Welcome Vangogh! I was there in the early 70s too and new in the org. to boot. My father went totally bugnuts and quit his well-paying job to pioneer, plunging the family into poverty.

since when is the so called "new light" (about the fds) published on the news-section of the officially website jw.org instead of in the study edition of the watchtower?
the wts use of internet has dramatically changed.
strange effect of this new "marketing" policy is that the annual meeting news at jw.org only available is for english speaking people with a computer and an internet connection.
That is interesting. Maybe they're trying to sneak that one in, almost like a bloodless coup.
hi haven't had much time to analize this site.
there are a number of topics on jws.

Love the religion flowchart!
hi, this thread is inspired by the "bible characters trading cards" thread.... can we come up with a great list of female bible characters that were strong, decisive and inspiring?.
scully mentioned ja'el: drugging and driving a tent spike through the head (we all remember the awesome bible stories illustration) of the enemy general.. list yours along with a description of why they were so badass!.

here is a picture of my wife behind the bar.. .
i still work for my jw family, but my wife is going to run the bar.. .
Congratulations!
would you have not taken a blood transfusion or a transplant because the gb said it was bad?.
would you have imitated the jws in concentration camps and died for your beliefs?.
Absolutely.

So many I can't count.
27 yr old female patient with ruptured ectopic pregnancy, sees the light and says yes to plasma and platelets.... she is then sedated.
her husband then declares she cant have the plasma and platelets and doctors are forced to go to court.
the risk of her death or permenant damage increasing by the hour.. the doctors decreed she had full capacity and right to autonomy when she relinquished her previos stand on blood.
They've probably already convened the JC.
