No one who leaves "the truth" is ever happy?
by El_Guapo infor years, i was told this..... " anyone who leaves the org is bitter, sad, and worse off, why do you think they come back???
guess what guys i am the opposite, now i quit cold-turkey (looking back, i should have faded correctly) i am planning on going to the memorial this month just to hear all "the friends" tell me how much they missed me.
since i have left the meetings, (jan. was my last meeting, i think).

The cult league table
by cedars inhere is an interesting interactive web page that ranks jehovah's witnesses 5th in the list of "largest religious cults".. http://shareranks.com/show.php.
i'm not sure i could endorse all of the selections.
in particular, i don't believe all of islam could be classed as a cult, given that mohammed is no longer alive and there is a marked distinction between radical islam and mainstream islam.

That's interesting.
I recently reconnected with my "worldly" family and found that one of them is into Bahai. She tried gently to interest me in it. I gently told her I'd take a look at their website. Yuck!

Shunned again today
by punkofnice inas i walked through the streets of my hometown i walked past a 'sister'tm).
at first i didn't recognize her as i wasn't paying attention.. she sort of gave me a bit of a smile (or did she have wind/gas?).
after i has passed her, it dawned on me who it was.. i'd given her family lifts to meetings and socialised with them.. i then realized she'd shunned me.

What are the JW's up to now days?
by ForbiddenFruit inso i left around 4 years ago, my family have pretty much left me alone after the first year of harassment, but in the last 6 months i've been hearing about 'the end' a lot again.
so i'm basically wondering if anything has happened?
if anything specific has gone on in the last 6 months (or few years since i've left) to make my family get all zealous about me going back to the 'truth' again?

And the Internet is an evil, scary place.

Just wanted you to know, none of you are intriguing. Rather, you're all quite repulsive.
by Theocratic Sedition innot saying that's my personal opinion, but this week's congregation bible study asks the viewpoint question, "would apostate literature or internet sites intrigue you or repulse you?
"- jeremiah book, page 70, para 7. .
gotta love it.. i guess apostate sites are like crime scenes.

Is there a 'third' way to leave?
by Splash inonce baptised, apart from death there are really just two ways to leave the congregation: df or da.. but notice this quote:.
"does he really desire to disassociate himself, or does he simply no longer want to associate actively with the congregation?".
- shepherd the flock of god (2010) p. 111. .

Such a minefield!
It shouldn't be so difficult to leave a religion you no longer believe in.
