Does This Happen to You? I Need Help :/

hey guys.... i have a few important questions for everyone.

this applies to doubters, faders, inactive, dfed or seasoned apostates.

first, let me set it up:.

I had to get to a place where I didn't care what other people thought before I could DA myself. In order to do that I had to create some distance between myself and the congregation members.

I knew they were largely insincere when they tried to "encourage" me, and their hypocrisy helped me realize that these people have no power over what I think of myself, which is the most important opinion.

People come and go in your life, but you live with yourself forever. If you know you're living a lie you can't be happy, and that will affect your self-esteem more than the poorly informed opinions of congregation members.

The JW organization allows the existence of pedophiles in their ranks. Its doctrine about blood kills people. It is an evil mind-control cult. "Apostasy" against such a religion is noble, not shameful.

What if you could just walk away? No DF'ing or Shunning?

if i could tell my mom and other family jw's that i wasn't going back, didn't believe it and wanted to move on with my life without worrying about being df'd or shunned, i'd do it in a heartbeat.. but, that is not the case.

wonder how many the wtbs would lose if they changed their policy on this?

how many of you would have left sooner if there were 'no strings attached' to the wt?.

so oftin i recall being excited about all the cases that were won in the name of jehovah.

i would talk with my dad and ask him how could it be possible that the supreme court judges haven't become witnesses.

it made no sense to me, that these men and women were not moved by all the wins that the organization was piling up.

That's an excellent point! Never thought of it that way.

I remember hearing an experience about a WWII vet who went to law school after the war. He said that his studies showed him that while he was at war fighting for freedom, back home his freedom was being taken away. However, JWs had fought in the Supreme Court to retain or restore those freedoms. He was impressed with the JWs for that reason.

And now here they are becoming more restrictive with every passing year. I've lost my freedom of associating with my family just because of their laws. Hypocrisy indeed.

The book was pretty gory, but the movie tones that down. It's not bad.

A Couple Points about New Elders Child Abuse Letter Directions ...........

in aragon's thread which has reached 6 pages a couple of points were touched on that i wanted to bring out but thought these points deserved a whole thread to dissect and discuss them.. first off : there seems to be a total hypocrisy , arrogance, or typical speaking out of both sides of their mouth when the wt instructions in the letter says :.

" the branch office, not the local body of elders, determines whether an individual who has sexually abused children in the past will be considered a ' predator ' .

then this quote from the 1997 wt instructions : " and the congregation cannot read hearts to tell who is and who is not liable to molest children again.

And the congregation cannot read hearts to tell who IS and who IS NOT liable to molest children again.

I'm actually nauseous after reading that statement. Someone doesn't wake up one morning and say, "Hey, I think I'll molest a child today just for kicks." Usually molesting requires preparation over a period of time where the victim is "groomed" to accept the abuser's advances. AND THEY ALWAYS DO IT AGAIN, D*MMIT!

This was obviously written by a pedophile. voodoo

btw my family member was a babtized jw years ago..............they are just going through this crap a 2nd time voluntarily!

we're to sit at a table with one of their horrid, boring, dry, frightening publications.

read a paragraph, look up a scripture or scripture snippet, then ask the question.. .

How you respond to the "encouragement" depends on how feisty you are and whether you're prepared to take the flak you get if they get huffy about your resistance. If you relish confrontation go ahead and throw some questions at them (www.jwfacts.com is a good resource), but if you want to "fade" out of the organization you should smile and thank them for their encouragement. Then go take a shower.
