so we both looked at her physical revelation book and it was made in 88 so it should be there.
Did we study that "publication" about 4 times?
At least 3 that I know of. The third time through was when I started choking on those stupid trumpet blasts and eventually bailed out.

last weekend he worked with an elder who is in his late 50's, another brother who is in his mid 60's, my husband is in his mid 60's and the idiot who conducted the meeting put a eight or nine year old girl with them.. i asked my husband why?
he said he thought it was strange also.
I remember years ago some parents dumping their kids off at the hall for field service but not going out themselves.
Even in later years there were several times when it would be my husband and me and someone else's kids. How can a parent be comfortable with that?

i was baptized in 1992 and i think one of the books were united in worship...(blue book).
I was baptized in 1974 and was supposed to read "Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God" and I think "Babylon the Great has Fallen, God's Kingdom Rules." Talk about dry! I was just shy of 15 and could not bring myself to read either one.
I had studied the "Truth" book and "True Peace and Security - From What Source?"
just had a quick read through the new 16 page edition of the watchtower, and noticed an article about able who was adam's son.

I remember something about creative days not necessarily being of uniform, 7000-year length. Can't remember if that was in a talk or in the Washtowel, but it stuck in my mind as an explanation of the age of the earth itself. That first creative day could've been millions of years long.

They didn't believe a word I said in spite of the fact that my husband was there to corroborate. Buncha weenies.
i have only just recently found this site, in fact only recently gone online to do research of my own about jws.
before i left i had only gone on my gut instinct, not even realising i was not alone with my feelings.
the week i was appointed an elder some 11 years ago, i had had to write to a congregation many miles away from me about how unloving they were (more details below).. not long after i started to have concerns about jws, expecially as the message of 'following the bibles message' subtly changed to 'follow the fds', this did not sit well with me.

So much damage has been done by that cult. So many wounds and wasted years. I'm glad you found the courage to leave. Your letter is beautifully written.

In Charlotte, North Carolina. We got some pretty gusty winds last night and a few sprinkles, but the mountains west of here are getting hammered with snow.
you know, to fit in....to be a part of our own family or group and not be a total nerd or contrarian.. we hold our tongue.
we smile and nod.. but, then....there is at least one thing we just can't go along with because it is too important.. why?
because we are a total snob.

Oh, and my accent. It's neutral American despite the fact that I've lived in New Jersey, Boston, coastal Maine, and the South - all regions with strong local accents.
i have been out since 2002. i have absolutely nothing to do with the borg.. in the last week i have been threatened twice by 2 different witlesses.
the first one in an email said: 'you know what the consequences are for leaving the organisation'.. i took absolute offense to this for a few reasons.
firstly, threatening someone is against the law.
Secondly, no one deserves to die (even though they teach that no one deserves life)
Honestly, even though I know I heard it at the meetings all the time, I never really thought about this until now. What a twisted teaching that is!
It's terrible that they actually threatened you. I'm sure they thought they were acting out of Christian love.
