CO from years ago
by z-monster ini haven't been to a kh in about 30 years.
i had come across isocf at a time when i briefly considered going back, about 10 or so years ago.. anyway, ray quotes a letter in chapter 7 from a co that mentions that r&f witnesses would be expected to do more during the co's visit.
thus feeling like an overwoked horse in a field.

Is leaving the JW's like release from Prison ?
by Phizzy ini was listening this morning to the experience of sonia "sunny" jacobs, who was on death row for a long time, until her case was properly dealt with.. she explained that upon leaving prison after all those years it was amazing !
"the colours!
" she said, in prison all is grey or black , but outside in the free world, so many colours!.

It's funny - I knew I was out of prison but could still feel the shackles. It dawned on me slowly that I could now do stuff that I couldn't do before.

What Year Will JWs Start To Ask, Are The GB Pulling Our Leg? 2020, 2030 or 2050?
by ÁrbolesdeArabia ini can see this game being played until 2050, there is enough cash to last until the middle of the century, if all print is shut off.
when will the lights snap on, and the majority of the jws figure "we were tricked and let's keep our kids from making our mistakes.
how far can you see in your "mind's eyes" the barnums of bethel moving the circus tents before the audience realizes the show is long over?

I think the Internet will eventually be the death of them. Young people are not going to accept the "Internet is evil" rhetoric, especially since they have to use it for school work, and it's only a matter of time before their curiosity takes them to "apostate" sites, especially since there are so many of them.

Nov 26 KM Item: Their Surplus Offset aDeficiency
by Splash incoming up in a few weeks is an item on the service meeting, covering the item on p.8-9 of wt nov 2012., based on galatians2:10 "only we should keep the poor in mind.".
we're then reminded of ways we can do this in the box "how some choose to contribute to the worldwide work" which has section headings:.
outright donations.

All Things Pagan
by Unbrainwashed publisher1 inwhy is the wt org selective concerning things with pagan origin?
for instance wedding rings they have no ban on wearing them and some wtnss say it is because it is commonly accepted now and no longer have significant pagan roots, but is that the point?
if satan himself starts up something popular and as time moves on it loses its original satanic flavor it is ok for "true christians" - i love how j dubs qualify that, to adopt it now as a practice?

what would be their first thought???
by Strawberryfieldsforever ini often wonder about the older "old school" jehovah's witnesses that are up in their 70's and they are losing all their friends they have known most of their lives.
they waited together all those years for the big "a" and it still isn't here.
they are still sitting at the meetings, raising their hands to answer on the same old material and waiting for any tidbit of new information about how close they are to that paradise earth.. i wonder what would be their first thought when the doubt begins to seep in and they have nobody to tell it too....... .

They'd feel it was too late to do anything about it. All of their friends and probably family are JWs. If they leave, they're screwed.

What is the most fun you can have as a JW without punishment or guilt?
by usualusername ini was just thinking of of the fun i had since leaving the jws and many things i have done since would fall foul of judicial action.. .
even inviting a female neighbour over for tea could have caused problems, which got me to thinking.
how much fun can you have as a witness guilt free?.

Generalizations are rarely correct. I still believe in "God" but not in Jehovah.
