10 things that happened in 2012 - my review
by cedars inlast year i did a review of 2011 for the forum.
this was more of a review that focussed on some of the awful stuff that was printed in the literature that year - the first year of my awakening.. 2012 has been more interesting from the point of view of things actually happening outside the literature.
i thought it might be nice to take a look back and put some of these events in chronological order.... .

New Light About FS--question
by DarioKehl inso, if the current gb is this "faithful and discreet slave" and they place greater emphasis on 1919 now, are they saying that only a few anointed christians were selected in the 1st century, followed by nearly 2000 years of no selections and starting around 1914-1919, the selection of the rest of the 144,000 resumed?.
if so, this is an easy explanation for the increase in numbers of partakers since 2008. have they gone right out and said this officially or have they only alluded to it up to now?.
also, the original understanding was this "shut door" policy of 1935. i never understood how they arrived at that year.

So, you know those "Keep Calm and..." memes?
by fortis et liber inwell, i was just looking at the pinterest page ::eye roll:: of a current jw who's husband i once knew quite well additionally, we shared many "friends" in common.
anyway, posted to her "things for my wall" category is one of those "keep calm and..." memes and this one says, "keep calm and shun the non believers" to which a host of my former "friends" have added their 'lols' and 'ha ha ha's' and "yes!
" comments and, it just makes me rage.. i know it is stupid to go looking for trouble after all, why visit the public pages (facebook, pinterst, etc.

Anxiety Attacks At Meetings
by EmptyInside ini believe i posted on this before.
but,i was recently thinking back when i was still regularly going to meetings.
and how sometimes,just the thought of having to start to get ready to go,sent me in a panic.

I'm a naturally anxious person, but meetings didn't give me extra anxiety. I felt more of a heaviness of heart at the thought of going. Once inside my home at the end of the day I sure as heck didn't want to venture out again in the evening, especially for what I started calling "the beatings."
Toward the end of my association when I was at the meeting I would feel as though my insides were trying to crawl out of me and I would often just get up and leave.

CO Disfellowshipped in UK
by konceptual99 inso, i have it on very good authority that a co has recently been disfellowshipped in the uk.
he has just finished serving the north west london area.
i don't know any details but perhaps there is someone who does know what happened.

MSN report on false end of the world predictions includes JW's
by joyfulfader ini thought this quote on msn regarding all the interest in end of the world stuff because of today's date 12/12/12 and the 21st as the end of the mayan calendar.. "figuring out when it all comes crashing down isn't easy, though.
the jehovah's witnesses, for example, have predicted the end of the world at least four times, only to be forced to backtrack.
