Immoral sleeping arrangement?
by hoser ini'm reading through the watchtower rule book right now and i came to the chapter clarification and guidelines on handling certain matters.
there is a part about scriptural divorce and even if adultery is not proved if your ex stayed all night or is involved in an immoral sleeping arrangement you can get scriptural grounds to remarry.. .
they make a rule, then they have to make a rule for the rule, make another rule for the rule for the rule.

Well, jeez. When I left my husband and the Borg I moved in with my BFF (ex-JW) and her partner. I was so afraid of my mentally unstable ex that I never told him where I was. I could have saved myself some trouble if I'd told him I was living with two lesbians. As it was, I had to pay for the divorce and let him know when I had committed "adultery."

What,s a dysfunctional family in your opinion???
by jam injust recently a family i know well (non-jw) big problems.. i thought my family (my ex and my kids) and other jw family.
members were dysfunctional but no comparison to this family.. i have known families that became jw,s, their famliy were.
dysfunctional but in a strange way their family became strong.. my thought , if you have one child that goes amok that ,s not.

I should add that thousands of dollars and many years of therapy later, I managed to build a good measure of self-esteem that allowed me to get out of the horrible marriage my parents pushed me into and to leave the cult.
The best revenge is living well.

I grew up in a dysfunctional family - Dad sexually and verbally abusive, alcohol problem. Mom completely in denial.
I came out of it with two deep-seated beliefs: Men are incapable of love. Fathers do not love their children. Those were even more deep-seated than the mind-control crap from JWs.
I'm still amazed when I observe parents who recognize their children's talents and actively nurture them. Who cheer their children on when they're doing well and who comfort and support them when they're having a tough time. Parents who are actively involved in their children's education, review their homework, reach out to their teachers. Parents who are completely unselfish, who exercise self-control, who allow their children to be themselves.
I never had any of that. I honestly don't know why my parents had children at all.
I never had children because I was afraid I would do the same thing to them, and I never wanted to treat another human being so badly.

"How Awful This Place Can Be!" Life at Bethel by Keith Casarona
by Dogpatch inremember the video of all the nice dudes who were on the governing body in the 70s?
(here's a refresher).. well this is what their lives were really like - the same as when i was there.
by the time it got to the end, all was left was chicken backs.

My ex-husband was a Bethelite from 1974-76. He worked on the National sewers on the night shift. His stories are very similar to Keith Casarona's.

Will AAWA Become another cult?
by His Excellency inplease sorry for english, i have only been learning for 18 months.
everyone please think about it, and beware of any initiative designed to solve "a community problem".
becasue russel also started his own cult on a similar premise like this , claiming to have all the answers to issues whose solutions seems obscured to the majority in his days, and here we are today, constantly bashing our fingers on the keyboard in a bid to finding comfort from the mess he had put all of us into.

My friend from 40 Years ago
by Lady Lee inwhen i was a young jw and all the other young jws were avoiding me because i was from "that family" i had one young girlfriend who didn't care.
we were both not well liked so we hung out together.
she was my maid of honor when i got married but we lost touch because soon after the wedding we moved to "where the need was great" to help set up another cong in our hall.
