  the book of hebrews declare that jesus is god in this verse.

  what is the benefit of god's kingdom?.

  the watchtower said when it started out in 1879 that god's kingdom had already arrived in heaven in 1874 and that its work would be complete by 1914. .

  with heroic slogans of "destroying the kings of the earth" and "all enemies of christ the king" etc by 1914, "god fearing" humankind was to have been restored to prelapsarian innocence and the earth to a global edenic paradise.

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  now, the complete nwt is available in modern hebrew.. some time ago, a poster here said that releasing (in theory, i.e.

  ) the hebrew bible in a modern version, such as the nwt, would be irrational.

  There is no US airforce, Soviet army equivalent bearing down on wtBtS. inc.

  However in the mind set of JWs has to be always be upheld a certain a fear of persecution from all sides. Without tue persecution komplex the fearmingering wird Armageddon ideology has little target.

  German people gave up the Nazi ideology without any struggle at all.

  Similarly JWs would say: "Some believed in that and that, but that was until the Slave Governing Body died off and got its heavenliy reward. It is not possible that so many died because they refused a lifesaving transfusion. It is not possible that they covered up crimes or Destroyed families We never did that. Anyway thats old trash.   Death of NASA Legend Aged 101

  katherine johnson passed away today aged 101. she was the subject of the excellent movie hidden figures that told the story of her amazing work as a mathematician calculating trajectories for space flights.. 'ms.

  johnson helped our nation enlarge the frontiers of space even as she made huge strides that also opened doors for women and people of color in the universal human quest to explore space.

  The film gave me a new idea of how segregation even up to the 1950s influenced daily life of women. How hard it was for the african-american population to get higher education or a better job. In regards to NASA: "Black women at first used separate office, dining and bathroom facilities, but their abilities won them a level of acceptance ay NASA that was ahead of its time in the US." AFP

  Interesting to see, how in the NASA offices women worked on tasks like calculating manually the space trips before IBM computers functioned. But even after the computers were able to calculate faster austronauts relied on her math gift and let her manually check the coordinates e.g. of the landing site . "Along with colleagues, she plotted John Glenn's course when he became the first American to orbit the Earth in 1962. Before embarking on the mission, Glenn asked that Johnson personally re-check the computer-produced figures on a mechanical calculating machine -- a task that took one and a half days of intense work."   In the film also includes a scene at 56:15 when she appealed at court after she was rejected to study at a white school in Hampton. There was never before a afro-american at a white school before in Virgina. In the film she was very well prepared when she spoke to the judge. She argued that the only choice for her to become engineer at NASA is to get this studies at the white Hampton High School.

  To the question "Why should a coloured woman study at a white school, which had not happened before?" she answered: that "she had no other choice than to be the first to become an engineer at NASA" and she asked the judge: "in hundred years, which case will yet be remembered of all cases he has today, which case will make him the FIRST?" Nice moment. The judge answered: "O my god. ......only the evening courses".

  Sadly I cannot imagine how a Radioday might have been like.... we often watch Netflix together but how much brutality is shown in the films. Often we switch such scenes. Often we like listening together also symphonical ooncerts.

  this is the first time i have posted on here in many years..... i seldom visit now although this forum was instrumental to me in gaining my sanity in the early 2000's and recovering from the watchtower religion.. by chance tonight i was on youtube and caught a jw.org video which out of curiosity prompted me to look at the official website and amongst other things i looked up the music section.. why that i hear you ask?

  music is my passion and nothing reminds me more or evokes more memories than the kingdom songs i grew up listening to.. i am 49 years old and my mother was baptised in 1974. i grew up in the era of pink songbooks and green bibles.

  Satan Hurled Out in 1914 - Will They Say It Was Never Taught?

  since 2005, i have been through a lot with with wbts.

  recently i came across a suggestions that they will start denying that they ever said satan was hurled out of heaven in 1914.. in my experience, it is one doctrine many ordinary members are clear about - you ask them what supposedly took place in 1914 and they'll say, "satan was hurled out of heaven, therefore world war i started.".

  This hurling out of heaven happened shortly after the enthronment of Christ as King, according to the watchtower, e.g. w 1995 July 15th page 5

  Satan’s influence on earth is temporary. Jehovah will not tolerate satanic rule much longer! Soon the Devil will be put out of action. A new ruler will take control of the earth, a righteous king chosen by God himself. That King is Jesus Christ. Concerning his enthronement in heaven, Revelation says: “The kingdom of the world did become the kingdom of our Lord [Jehovah] and of his Christ.” Revelation 11:15 Bible chronology, together with the fulfillment of Scriptural prophecy, proves that this event took place in the year 1914.​— Matthew 24:3,6,7.

  The Bible also describes what happened shortly after Jesus’ enthronement. It says: “War broke out in heaven: Michael [Jesus Christ] and his angels battled with the dragon [Satan the Devil], and the dragon and its angels battled but it did not prevail, neither was a place found for them any longer in heaven. So down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels were hurled down with him.”​
  What would be the result of Satan’s expulsion from heaven? Those in heaven could rejoice, but what about the earth’s inhabitants? “Woe for the earth and for the sea,” says Revelation 12:12, “because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.” Indeed, the casting of Satan out of heaven has brought woe to the earth. The Columbia History of the World states: “The great catastrophe of the Four Years’ War of 1914–1918 . . . showed the Western world that it could not protect civilization from its own stupidity or evil impulse. The spirit of the West has never really recovered from that shattering.”
  The woes of this generation are marked by far more than a shattered spirit. Jesus prophesied: “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another.” He also foretold pestilences. (Matthew 24:7, 8; Luke 21:11) Moreover, the Bible says that in “the last days” of Satan’s system of things, many would be “lovers of themselves, lovers of money, . . . disobedient to parents, . . . not open to any agreement.” People would also be “lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.”​—2 Timothy 3:1-5.
  Wars, pestilences, food shortages, earthquakes, and a change for the worse in moral values​—all such things have taken place on an unprecedented scale since 1914, just as the Bible foretold. They indicate that the enraged enemy of God and man​—Satan the Devil—​has been cast out of heaven and now must confine his wrath to the domain of the earth. But the Bible also shows that Satan will not be allowed to operate much longer. He has only “a short period of time” remaining until Armageddon, when God destroys the world system that Satan controls.
  What will then happen to Satan? The apostle John wrote: “I saw an angel coming down out of heaven with the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. And he seized the dragon, the original serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. And he hurled him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him.” (Revelation 20:1-3) What relief for suffering mankind!
