this should be fun!.

one of greatest obstacles to leaving the organization is the destruction of the family unit.
as lady-lee wrote about oompa, i thought of this topic, the society says "this is their way to get wrong doing people to return to the loving arms of jehovah after they repent of their sins" .
i know of men and women who are in good standings and hate their fellow spiritual jw family, i am willing to bet, wager that "jw-hatred" exceeds the worlds hatred, something about a self-assured group versus the "not so self assured' creates one plucked up structure.
I have not went through this yet. I am trying to fade and I want to take my wife and daughter with me. Except for a few individuals, ALL of my family are Jw's. My father is not and I don't think he would shun me. I could live without talking to them, but I shouldn't have to. No one should have to go through that. Does the fear of losing my family make me hold my tounge at times? Your damn right it does. That's precisely why the Org started Df'ing people after Russell died, for control and it works. We had an anniversary party recently, and it was really fun to be with my family. I enjoyed it, but not fully because I knew in my heart that I am not free to be honest with my own family. To even attempt to help them would likely get me DF'd.
My brother, an Elder was relating a story about his bible study. They are currently studying how Satan transforms himself into an Angel of light. So as the story is being told about " False Religions", EVERYTHING out of my brothers mouth applied to the WTBTS!! His study said, " So any religion that doesn't teach what the bible says is from Satan?", YES, says my brother, just like Catholics. All I managed to say was , " Or ANY religion that doesn't teach what is true..". YES, says my brother again... They are sooo blinded Could I live without my family? I will find out some day....
should i try to dissuade my daughter from being baptized?
she doesn't seem to be in hurry.
all her " friends " are already baptized, some since early childhood which is ridiculous in my opinion.
Thanks everybody. It is a tough decision. I have to get my thoughts straight first. I think the real problem for me is I feel that I cannot defend my stance about TTATT. I KNOW what I have read personally. I can spot inconsistencies, I can read all the old literature and see what was really taught in the past, I can see the manipulation that goes on. I just can't make anyone else see it. You cannot convince a JW that ANYTHING the GB says is wrong. So thats part of my hesitation of coming right out and spilling TTATT. I don't want my family broken up either. So Biblecheck is right about me being fearful, and I hate that about myself, but I am working on that alittle more every day. As far as anyone pressuring my daughter to get baptized, that is not happening...yet. If my wife was pressuring her then I would be moving faster, but thankfully she is not. It is my daughters decision if she wants to be baptized or not. It is my responsibility as her parent to make sure that she has ALL the information needed to make a correct decision. She may get baptized no matter what I say. She may see in the future that I was telling the truth after all, and get out. I wish that the WTBTS would be dead and gone before she has to make that decision. Of course, that would be wishful thinking on my part. I have to plan like the WTBTS will be around for ever. I also have to be completely honest without saying too much too fast. To do otherwise would be a betrayal to my daughter in my opinion. No matter what, I want her to look back and know that I never lied to her.
were there a lot of elders, ms's and pioneers that should not have had those titles?.
Well, hopefully he got a handle on it.
it is eight months since i went to a meeting in a kingdom hall.
in that time i've met one or two witnesses, including elders, as i've been out and about in this small town.
some have been pleased to see me, some have avoided me.
But they'll keep the child molesters and not tell any of the publishers.
YEP!!! Disgusting....

real or hoax, i know not.
greer is reported to be an m.d.. i can tell you that there have been some terrifying up close and personal encounters with bizarre creatures in italy and brazil in recent years that were well attested to.
Who? Me or metatron?
it seems that the views on handgun ownership and weapons are sporatic among jws.
if i understand it correctly, it's generally okay to own guns and knives as long as they aren't to be acquired as weapons...even self defense.
some jws say they have no problems with gun/knife ownership; others say that it's easier not to tell anyone they have them.
Well look. If you believe in Christ and a representative of a government come to your house and says, " I am authorized by the state to execute you if you do not renounce your faith and swear allegience to the Government.." then YOU have a choice to make. If you choose to die for your faith based on something true ( not like Malawi ) I can respect that. If some moron/criminal off the street wants to kill me, then it's on. It is him or me. I am under no obligation to let someone take my life for no good reason, or my families for that matter. I do not own a gun, but have no problem with others having one. I believe there is a newer article saying that neutralizing an opponents is acceptable, just don't cross the line. You don't ever want to kill someone if you don't have to. I think most law enforcement officials would agree that it is best not to use excessive force. As a Christian you have the right to defend yourself. One friend of mine who is an Detective for the police said if you shoot someone outside your house, drag them back inside for legal reasons, crazy... Here is one article from the ol' GB!
The Bible's ViewpointWhen Is Self-Defense Justified? A SUDDEN noise awakens you in the middle of the night. You hear footsteps. Someone has broken into your home. With your heart beating like a hammer in your chest, you fearfully wonder what you should do next. This is a situation that anyone could face. Crime-even violent crime-is no longer limited to certain countries or big cities. In the resultant climate of fear, many people seek protection by purchasing weapons or learning martial arts. Some governments have enacted laws that give citizens the right to use deadly force to defend themselves. But what does the Bible say? Is a person ever justified in using force to defend himself or his family?God Hates ViolenceThe Bible condemns violence and those who resort to it. The psalmist David said regarding Jehovah God: "Anyone loving violence His soul certainly hates." (Psalm 11:5) God pronounced judgment against several ancient nations, including his own people, because of their violence and bloodshed. (Joel 3:19; Micah 6:12; Nahum 3:1) Even unintentional manslaughter resulting from carelessness was a serious crime under the Law given to Israel.-Deuteronomy 22:8.The Bible exhorts individuals to avoid potential conflicts by pursuing peace every day. Violent struggles often begin with a heated exchange of words. The Bible observes: "Where there is no wood the fire goes out, and where there is no slanderer contention grows still." (Proverbs 26:20) Calmness often defuses anger and deflects violent confrontation. The apostle Paul wrote: "If possible, as far as it depends upon you, be peaceable with all men."-Romans 12:18.When You Are ThreatenedPursuing peace does not guarantee that you will never face violent attack. Faithful worshippers of God throughout history have been victims of violent crime. (Genesis 4:8; Job 1:14, 15, 17) If a person is confronted by an armed robber, what should he do? Jesus instructed: "Do not resist him that is wicked." (Matthew 5:39) He also said: "From him that takes away your outer garment, do not withhold even the undergarment." (Luke 6:29) Jesus did not condone use of physical weapons to defend material possessions. If confronted by an armed robber, a wise person will not resist giving up his valuables. Surely, life is far more precious than belongings! On the other hand, what if a person's life is threatened by an assailant? A law that God gave to ancient Israel sheds light on this. If a thief was caught in the daytime and was killed, the assailant would be charged with murder. This was evidently because thievery did not carry the death penalty and the thief could have been identified and brought to justice. However, if an intruder was fatally struck at night, the householder could be exonerated because it would be difficult for him to see what the intruder was doing and to ascertain the intentions of the intruder. The householder could reasonably conclude that his family was under threat of harm and take defensive action.-Exodus 22:2, 3.The Bible thus indicates that a person may defend himself or his family if physically assaulted. He may ward off blows, restrain the attacker, or even strike a blow to stun or incapacitate him. The intention would be to neutralize the aggression or stop the attack. This being the case, if the aggressor was seriously harmed or killed in such a situation, his death would be accidental and not deliberate. The Best ProtectionClearly, there are circumstances under which reasonable self-defense is justified. People have a right to protect themselves and their loved ones from aggression and deadly harm. When escape is not possible, there is no Biblical injunction against reasonably defending ourselves. Still, the course of wisdom would be to do our best to avoid situations with a potential for violence.-Proverbs 16:32.The Bible encourages us to "seek peace and pursue it" in all avenues of our life. (1 Peter 3:11) This is a practical formula that really contributes to peaceful living.
Since avoiding dangerous situations in the first place is self-defense, then it must be justified. Also having the capacity for violence is not the same as enjoying it.
were there a lot of elders, ms's and pioneers that should not have had those titles?.
I knew a MS who had a wife that made a porno with another brother and his wife. It was leaked and kids were watching it. I think she was a pioneer or maybe just an auxillary at the time. She was not DF'd ( not that I really wanted her to be ) and he was not removed. They just moved. They were both nice. It was just odd because no one could get appointed to save their soul, but your wife could make a porno and you could remain a servant. It was not the Servants fault, just typical of the flawed sytem.
is the watchtower society really god's organization?.
the governing body of the watchtower society, makes the claim that they are god's, 'spirit directed organization', god's 'prophet, or mouthpiece'.
one would suppose that an organization that claims to know all the truths of the bible, would know that the coming prophet like moses, who was appointed over jehovah's house in the days of the israelite nation, would also know, that the coming prophet like moses, would be the one appointed over god's house when he arrived on the scene, when the due time arrived for the new covenant to go into force.
No they are not. Nice article by the way. It was not too long, and it was coherent. We get some ramblers on here who must have forgotten to take their meds.
we all saw this coming - http://www.jehovahswitnessblog.com/jw-lawsuits/latest-candace-conti-news/.
I am confused. All I know is that if the Watchtower wins it would be horrible. I want them to lose soooo bad!!!!
