From my understanding the book of Revelation was written around 90-100 AD ....it was almost excluded from the NT cannon.

Post 666: Revelation--Its Grand Climax in 70 AD
by Londo111 inrevelation is the most misunderstood and misused book of the bible.
the branch davidians and other cults used revelation with deadly results.
fundamentalists have used it to prognosticate a future where the antichrist and his one world government mark people with microchips or barcodes during a seven year tribulation.

Did guilt force you into relationships with negative or selfish people?
by HelpMeBelieve inhow much force did guilt play into your relationships with other witnesses?
we wasted so much of our lives chasing things that are not real, love that was highly conditional and relationships with people that evaporated once we started to fade away.. .
i would force myself to talking with nutty brothers who seemed to be "short their rent each month, never able to catch up".

From my experience I wouldn't necessarily call it guilt which forced negative friendships, just a lack of options. I've had to deal with a lot of dysfunctional friendships over the years because of the constant admonition to "keep putting up with one another". I've had friends who were great but I also had a stressful time dealing with the surrounding friends in their clique. They all came from wealthy families and many of them do not have to work like average people. Almost all of them had serious humilty or social issues. The biggest problem that I encountered was their total lack of respect for one other. They were very critical and always had something to say about the other. It was a if they were trying to score brownie points when the other was away. If you confronted them about something negative they said about you, they would never own up to it or say "it was a joke". They would compete against each other in a materialistic fashion too; "Oh I just bought a G35", "Well my parents plan on getting me a IS250", "Just got two 24' inch Apple monitors with a solid state harddrive Mac Pro", etc. They would talk abusively about any spiritually weak witness and instead of offering to help or invite them out in field service.
Now I am slowly leaving these dysfunctional friendships and I do not feel it to be complete loss but cutting ties with the ones I do care for is extremely heart breaking.

The big deal about masturbation / Deaf Video by the WTB&TS
by smiddy inby all accounts this video has gone viral on the internet ,generating much discussion as to the appropriateness or not, of this subject in a religous forum for the deaf people, which can also be veiwed by anybody else on the official website , jw.orb....deaf sign language....gods way is love.....scroll down to #22 and their you have it.
why did they do it in the first place.. the bible in christendom is generally accepted as being 66 books in total in protestant circles , catholic , eastern orthodox , etc .have a few more that they may refer to.
these writings are in general accepted as the inspired word of god given to his people over a period of some thousands of years .. in all these inspired writings over thousands of years has their ever been anything specifily stated ,condemning masturbation as a sin or anything wrong about it .. if the almighty god didn`t see the need to comment on the subject who are the wtb&ts to make a video about it .. and lets look at a few facts here:.

At what age do people 'wake up'?
by Splash ini was thinking about this question recently after being at the meeting when new pioneers were announced for the 2013 service year.. we have a dozen or so pioneers in the congregation, and most are in their 20's.
some absolutely love the things they are taught and can't wait to spread the good news.. others in the congregation are going through the motions, tired of hearing the same old same old but have no way to change things now.
then there are a couple like me.

I began to wake up at 25... emotionally and mentally out now at 26 (currently fading). Instinctively, the subject of the faithful and discreet slave never settled right with me. I prayed and tossed this bad feeling away as a lack of faith. I always promised myself that one day I would sit down and personally research the doctrine but I always procrastinated in doing so....thank goodness my procrastination didn't take many more years out of my life.
What I have noticed is that witnesses either have to have the intellectual curiousity, or have to experience a considerable amount of disappointment to come to TTATT. A substitue CO from the neighboring hall not too long ago was DF'd for comitting "emotional adultery" with a married pioneer sister. From the rumors I now hear, he strongly disagreed with the decision of the BOE (since they had no evidence against him) and now has developed an "apostate-like attitude". This former CO tho, was such a over zealous asshole, very pharisaical, and highly critical of the brothers at his hall.
My brother-in-law was a huge YES man also. Until recently he was holding a ministerial servant position...he then had some of his priviledges taken away because he did work for a church. Now he's waking up, not fully but he's getting there. It takes a dramatic emotional ass kicking to have many people wake up from this corporate faith. Until something dramatic happens, you can't really nudge them with facts or evidence against the Society.

Can you list watchtower articles that claim anything from the 'faithful slave' should be taken as from jehovah himself?
by EndofMysteries injust a few wts that put to the effect anything from them should be taken as from jehovah himself and also with elders or being disfellowshipped, that it means jehovah himself is angry with them, that's it's punishment from him.

That July 1 1943 Watchtower is priceless. They literally show words that Jehovah supposedly told them to say.

If The JW Religion Wasn't So Strict Would You Be Against It As Much As You Are?
by minimus ini don't think i'd be so involved in making the truth be known if they weren't so extreme.. only when it affects our quality of life and our family and friendships, do i feel the need to tell others of what i know to be true about the religion.. what about you?.

If they weren't self righteous arrogant theology Nazi's then... no I wouldn't be as critical of them... of course that would require them to be Christian though :)

Recovery, why do the scriptures have so many contradictions, discrempancies, and manuscripts that do not agree with one another?
