Very nice OFS! Cheers. I would like to comment like that if I even had the will to raise my hand at all. JWs do not like to call a spade a spade. If you shun, then own it, be proud of it and dont be ashamed. It reminds me of how they arent creationists even though they believe in the Genesis account of creation lol.

14 the question was, "what trust can a faithful christian whose relative is disfellowshipped have?".
after awhile when no one else raised their hands ofs did, and was called on.. ofs commented, "one of jw can have the trust that god will lovingly give them the ability to uphold the disfellowshipping arrangement by totally shunning family members.".

job chapters 1 and 2 says that jehovah talked to him.
wasn't jehovah supposed to shun his son and set an example to all parents?.

I really dont know. Look at all the families that shun inactive children, siblings etc. Shunning of them is not enforced or called for yet it still happens since they have "left Jehoover" Shunning is in JW blood. Even if the doctrine changed, I believe many would do it anyways. Its all they know -

WT pictures stick with the dubs more than the words. Much of imagery is absorbed into the mind subconciously. Somehow I wonder if the artist here is one of the "concsious class" why would they depict the DF woman as attractive, confident, and in color, whilst the rest of the congregation is dishevled, frumpy, in black and white. Why would such a person want to return to that depressing scene. You would think that they would potray the congregation in color and the DF sister as unhappy and in black and white. Very odd.

Good points here. The first thing I thought of is that you can surrender your licence, let it expire and stop driving with what consequence? You will not lose family and "friends". To compare having authorization to operate a machine to dedicating your life to a group that holds shunning over you is crazy. I got baptized at 12. I remember years ago how they said the deciscions making frontal cortex of the brain was not developed until 25 and you should not make the commitment of marriage before then. I guess they were right. The two worst deciscions of my life were made at age 12 and 19. Getting baptized into a cult and marrying a cult member. Now at 27 I do feel more mature and also feel I have fucked up my life royally from those decisions. -
