This type of thing makes JWs uncomfortable. They like to feel Satan is after them, persecuting them, attacking them. They cant explain why similiar of worse things happen to Christian groups.

NSA spying on Vatican! My JW parents are SOO EXCITED!

when i went over my parents house yesterday, you could see the excitement, the energy in their eyes when they talked about it.
my dad even pumped his fist like he won something when he was talking about it.

ShirleyW- I believe that age is just a number and many people lead active, healthy lives even into their 90s. My point was that my dad is doing a very physically demanding job, with no retirement prospects and no plan for the future. Most his age are planning for retirement, but instead it seems they are banking on the new world coming to bail them out. He also is not the healthiest. I am 25 btw, and I did not mean to insinuate that your life is over at that age :).

Im with MSconcerned. I cant stand their gloating, were better than this future bird food attitude they have, especially when in field circus. I hate how they shamelessly pick out the houses they want after armageddon, the same house you just saw beautiful family in and kids playing. I cant stand the fakeness of many of their attitudes, just speaking to you at all because they have too. I hate how they think the whole world is all deluded, when in reality they are some of the most deluded people on earth! Kind of like the mental patient who thinks everyone else is crazy!
I hate how they think that someone will die at armageddon, for not listening to someones ill prepared stale presentation early on a Saturday morning, or for not seeing the undeniable truth in the flimsy WT+Awake Litter-a-Trash. They seem to be so pompus, self assured, self righteous, and elitist. Has there ever been a group of janitors, window-washers, and lawn mowers who think they are better than the rest of the world?
I hate the scorn they have for scientists, scholars, and society in general, exept for when they are using them for their own ends and twisting what they say. I think back to Anthony Morris (the turd) when he at the AGM was speaking with scorn in his voice and on his face when talking about how "we are not impressed by the worldly intelligensia" Thats the same attitude they pass on to average R+F JWs.

by Mr Fool inin my point of view, modest clothing is simple and humble.
so why are jw-men dressed like they own a big company or are challangers to the president post?

It just came out yesterday that the NSA has spied on the Vatican and Pope Francis. When I went over my parents house yesterday, you could see the excitement, the energy in their eyes when they talked about it. To them this is yet ANOTHER sign that the destruction of "false religion" is oh so close, and how the end must be almost here. Boy it sure is hard to be in stealth mode/fading isnt it? Talk about learning to be an actor and keeping your mouth shut, words few and a poker face!!
I feel so bad for my parents. They are going on 60, never thought they would be in this system this long. Hell, they never thought I would get to high school, graduate from it, get a job, get married, have kids, etc.. all things that have now happened! My dad is breaking down physically and does hard laborious work as an auto mechanic, and my mom hasnt worked since she was at Brooklyn Bethell in 1986! (if you can even count that). She spends her days in Field Circus as a Reg. Pioneer. They NEED the end to come AND SOON. They dont want to face a future that they never thought would come, and are ill prepared for. Its so sad to see people you love so deluded.
I bet this news story will really start making the JW email rounds, and get them stirred up for a couple weeks IMO.

I feel that the WT is trying to get blood from a stone. They want more money, yet they discourage college, and as a result JWs have the lowest salaries of any major religious group. Rent, mortgage, food to eat, and utilities will always come before contrubutions to the cult. Many do not have any left over after these things are paid. They have dug themselves into a slowly, very slowly disentigrating spiral.

They think they dress as professionals. The thing is, professionals today wear a sport jacket and jeans or khakis if that, and no tie for the most part, and it is NOW acceptable to have beard if you are a judge, lawyer, doctor, CEO or other professional. Women have been wearing pant suits for decades. If it were up to the WTS, no JW female would ever wear pants or skirts above or at the knee, no one would ever wear evil jeans, or leave their shirt untucked. What the WTS depicts as casual clothing, should in fact be their dress clothing.
and oooohhh dont they looooovvveee to criticize some churches for what they wear to church. Does that remind you of anyone? Pharisees perhaps?
They should be trying to look like the common man. How many older people are afraid to open their doors when they see two young JW men, dressed in black suits coming to their door with a frown on their face? Most people think, this must be the FBI, Bank officials, or other bad news. They just look silly and out of place.
