for some reason i can't post on the original topic about the fds on why the watchtower is doomed thread.
so i just started a new post.
as regards af's long-winded post on that thread, it is obvious to me that you don't know what you are talking about, and that you are merely trying to obfuscate the issue with this enormously long post.

Nic,
OH MY GOD. I about peed myself when I saw that clown photo.
Thanks so much. I really needed that laugh today.

ok.. i know i've been a bit of a buster in the past, but this is for real.
there is a site out there, and apparently a demand, for modified housepets.
in a nutshell, what these ahem... [people] do is take a kitten, sedate it, insert the poor thing into a glass bottle with air holes drilled into it, and run tubes into it to feed it, and tubes into it to take care of everything else.
Yikes Dark Clouds,
your post was a joke like the bonsai kitty is a joke too, right?

hi there, cliff.. nice to have you with us.
i've noticed on a few threads you've been asking if anyone here is a jw.
i think you will find that you will get better results if you ask specific questions.
Yes, Tally, I will vouch for you. It's true- with our combined experience, there's probably not much we can't answer. Like he said, Cliff, ask away!

(p.s. Tally, thanks for still associating with me, even though I may be considered a tad 'dubious' to some who don't really know me.)

Hi there, Cliff.
We all understand your apprehension about exposing your JW history here. It took a lot of us months of lurking to finally come out and tell our stories. It is therapeutic when you finally decide to, though.
I was a witness for the first 21 years of my life. I've been out for five. However, I will try to answer your questions in an unbiased manner.
What has Jesus done about the false prophecies by the WTB&TS since He has been directing it since 1914?
Witness Explanation:
"What false prophecies?" Or, if you pin down a specific false prophecy and question them on it,
"That wasn't a false prophecy. That was 'old light.'
In Reality: Witnesses are taught to believe that Jesus has been directing the WT since 1914. In my opinion, the presumptiousness, haughtiness, lack of love, etc., shown by the GB is proof to me that Jesus doesn't have anything to do with them.
Why should I have to "wait till the light gets brighter," and "it comes out in the Watchtower?"
That's standard procedure to buy time. If they admitted they were wrong in so many areas, they wouldn't have a religion left. If people actually knew they were pulling things out of their ass, everyone would bail.
I realize you are wanting to hear the 'active' JW's try to explain these things. To that, I say 'Good Luck.'
Here, the replies you will most likely get are from Fred and You Know. If you're lucky, StillinTruth will throw in his two cents. Who knows if these guys are really witnesses. But if they are for real, they are a good example of the mental prowess that you are up against.
Again, welcome. And who knows? Perhaps a genuine dub will stick their neck out and take a stab at your questions.

i first posted to this board as "truman" about 2 months ago.
it was a time of deep depression, confusion, fear, and paranoia for me, as i had just 3 weeks before discovered that everything i had believed for 27 years was only a pipe dream.. everyone was very welcoming, but after only a few posts, i got so afraid i had to stop.
i was fearful of revealing too much, being somehow discovered, and of the possibility of saying the wrong thing, incurring the ire of my betters here.
Hey, LMR!
I have to keep this short because my computer is acting up, but I just wanted to say HOORAY! I am SO proud of you!
I have really enjoyed our correspondence, and I hope I was of some help. I know you will be ok. It's really rough at the beginning, but believe it or not, it gets better.
We are ALL here for you. Don't ever feel like you are all alone in this.
I am overjoyed that you came back to join us. I'm so proud of you.

come and listen to a story about a man named chuck.
a rich presbyter, he was about to lose his luck,.
Oh my god, you guys! I have tears in my eyes I've been laughing so hard.
I'll have to give it a go when my computer is working properly. I'm getting booted like every 15 minutes. Grrrrrr.... but this thread is worth re-booting for. Well done, all of you.

just suppose for a minute, that there is this guy.
a nice guy.
has a really good record of trying to do the right thing.
Six,
That's a question I have struggled with too. I'm a good person. Meek, even, when appropriate. I'd like to think that god, if he/she exists, will let that count for something.
In fact, he isn't sure he sees any evidence for Gods existance, save for the uncanny brilliance he thinks he sees in the natural world, and a few spooky stories riz tells.
Aww, Sixy, I hope I didn't scare you. That wasn't my intention. If you want, I'll read you a bedtime story. But not from 'My Book of Bible Stories,' because then you would really have some disturbing nightmares.
rizzy
looking back over many years of prayers, i cannot pinpoint any time when i felt, unequivocally, that i had received a personal response to my prayers.
can anyone here relate any experiences where you have felt that god answered prayers for you?
Oldhippie,
god is way too busy tallying up our field service reports to be bothered with our selfish requests.
No, I've never had any prayers answered either. I discovered that it's up to me to make my dreams realized.
