  Pronouncing it RIGHT

  what rules do you follow when pronouncing foreign names/places/things?

  i was remembering that when we were studying the daniel book for the book study back in the day, someone released a pronunciation guide.

  i remember studying it closely so i could pronounce all the names right (especially on the section of daniel 11).

  JimmyPage- both are correct, although FIL-uh-steen is the preferred pronunciation in my dictionary.

  I don't think there any set rules, so I just lookup everything in the dictionary.

  so this is probably not a big revelation for anyone, but a little for myself.

  or at least a sum up of why the jws still cling to many of their beliefs and practices are to gain them notoriety and attention.

  so many of the non-witness friends i have now remember the jw kids they grew up with only because they weren't allowed to celebrate the holidays.

  if you are fading just get a personal territory like the km talks about.

  say that you go there after work because you just can't make all the weekend service and you want to be busy in the ministry despite your circumstances.

  Take anything you can from them. I was thinking of learning a foreign language (Tagalog) on their dime as well, but they also required all or nothing. If all else fails, download anything you can in Russian from jw.org. I did that with Portuguese. It's nice to follow along the bible as I listen to the narrator.
