need your advice again, please

so here's the latest in my pathetic saga.

i've tried to fly under the radar for the past year, but it isn't working so well.

i've learned not to engage my wife in debates but rather to ask questions.

This reminds me of my mom when I ask her questions about the Society's unscriptural practices (i.e, time slip, beards, etc.) and tell her they are going beyond what is written. She closes her mind, goes into cult mode, and changes the subject. I have not blown it with anyone and have only asked questions. My questions are always sincere and the brothers know I'm a bookworm. Don't make it too obvious and don't be hasty.

James Randi!!! I love his videos on youtube. I learned about Randi when I took intro to psychology. I can't believe I forgot to click on your link (sometimes I use my ipod to post/read). Thanks! I was actually thinking about starting a thread asking people if they knew about Randi and his encyclopedia. JWs and their failed predictions are there.

I also forgot to thank all of you for your replies.

There is still much personal research I must do and not enough time. Summer school doesn't help either.

ok right after i got back from the conference my desktop computer died an ugly death.

so i have been struggling on with my laptop which really isn't up to all the things i like to do at the same time.. so i bit the bullet and went out and bought another computer.

got a real deal because i didn't want their hard drive.

btw I think the onlky true way to get a decent computer is to build it yourself

And I've heard it's cheaper.

I was prepared to have to reformat my drive and install every one of my programs.

I hate it when that happens. It takes me a day when I have to reformat my computer and reinstall drivers and programs.

If solid proof were suddenly found that the Book of Enoch should be included in the standard Bible, would that pose a problem for the Jehovah's Witnesses in regards to Michael the Archangel as Jesus?

if the book of enoch (elaborates and gives mention to 6 more archangels) suddenly became part of the bible due to solid evidence, how would this effect the shakey jw doctrine of michael the archangel as being jesus?

there are six other archangels mentioned in this book; could it be possible, if included in the jw bible, that one of the other archangels could be jesus?

would they excuse it somehow and simply stick with their implicit understanding of jesus=michael?.

If what the poster said is true, there WILL be changes hard to take in. I could also be wrong in the translation because of false cognates. The only way to find out is if I ask a native.

"academic literature" is a mistranslation. I understand some Portuguese and the correct translation would be "doctrinal field".

I'm so emotional right now. Even though she's not my grandma I felt the sting. I wish this cult imploded already. I think it's a good idea to send her the multi-million dollar lawsuit news article from Fox. She's better off donating to The Gideons International if she wants people to have a Bible. They have given more free Bibles than the WT.
