  to date JWism has defined my life and i hate that TRUTH

  and i am finding the adjustment to the real world far more difficult than i ever imagined...i f...it has been about five years since i totally woke up to the fraudulant nwt and then all my other doubts i had carried for years were proved true as well.

  but almost all of my few friends are exjw or slack jw's and i feel so isolated...my sons friends are mostly exjw too but not their gf's and they have way more normal friends .

  how have you done at replacing lifelong friends and family?

  What happens if the lights go out during a meeting?

  we all know of those kingdumb hells that don't have windows.

  and i never saw an a$$embly hell that had windows that would let light in that would reach the auditorium.

  so, what do they do if the lights go out during the middle of a boasting session?.

  Hey now! Maybe my cong was different. Whenever the lights went off...and the generator kicked on to supply minimum lights...they ALWAYS sent us home! Whoo-hoo!!!

  is it more common than the rest of society?.

  3 successful, 1 attempted.

  One of the successful suicides was a super sweet sister married to this tyrant of an elder. Supposedly she OD’d on prescription meds. But she was already suffering from depression and I think her hubby was an ass to her in private. They found her laid out on the bed, “sweetly sleeping."

  Well he remarries this sister 20 years his junior and now she is a total basket case. I think the only thing saving her is the kid they have together. He is an ASS!

  I know you are you are venting and may be a bit upset, but I could not help but chuckle at your GM. My mom is up there too…while she may not be completely aware of my “revolt” out of the “truth” as yet, she does do emotional blackmail on other things. I just straight up, either ignore her… smile and act like nothing she says or does will faze me!

  It’s almost like they are trying to get a rise out of you…don't let them!!!

  Don't make a big deal about her not coming to the baby shower. Tell her you'll miss her and that she will miss out on the cake.

  *(now this is evil Sophie thinking: If it were my GM I would ask her if she also wanted me to make sure I did not bring the baby around after he/she was born, because you know... I would not want to cause her any "spiritual stress"...but that's just evil me---LOL)

  But honestly, why bother? You know her assumptions about you are wrong so smile back at her and get on with your life. You could be radical and give her a lovely big hug, tell her you love her and make her day. That way you show her by your actions that you are a well-adjusted, non-defensive, loving ex JW. Cliches nail it so well: Your actions will speak louder to her than your [defensive] words.

  I do that to my mom all the time when she tells me that I am crazy…throws her everytime.

  Try not to let it get you down...stay happy for your baby!!!

  id like to know what personally convinced you jws are wrong about a particular doctrine/practice, that they are not gods true.people and/or what made you leave emotionally/physically.

  The emotional/mental toll of not being able to be properly indoctrinated. My mind kept resisting “group think” and behavior control. I could not assimilate.

  Trying to understand why I could not be conformed led me to reading about high-control groups and cults. Learning what I was a part of really freaked me out.

  Finally, I broke down and started reading information critical to the WTS. I finally understood why such things as 607/1914 never made any sense or that the ‘generation’ change was odd to me. I also wondered about things when the blood fractions came up.
  COC confirmed what I had secretly felt about the GB. I was completely out after I read that.

  Ok…that is the kind of stuff I would hear at conventions that would make me roll my eyes, drop my jaw and look round and wonder; “Are youl hearing this? They are making this crap up! How the hell do we know and why are they even going there!!!” WOW!

  I hope they retrofit every JW home, AH, and KH….to prepare for Divine Radiation ©
