Now that sounds like the best way to impact most of them as far as I'm concerned.

hi everyone,.
i am a new poster who is putting off their own personal story of finding this site for a while..... i find alot of people here utterly fascinating, and would like to know..... exactly what is everyones professional field of work?.
i would like to be a full time poster on this forum, but alas, the $$$$ are quite light in that field of work.. apologies if this has been asked before.. just curious.
Information Technology. Microsoft, Cisco, Unix, blah, blah, blah, blah...
Of course I picked up this field in the military.. naughty me

many of you deeply desire the wreckage of the watchtower.
society.. take heart, i shall tell you a great secret.. we have a man in power who is fufilling this great task.. if you want to destroy the wts, an old senile lump.

well i had a visit today from an elder (related through marriage) about my non-meeting attendance.
he let me know that the circuit overseer is due in for a visit in 2 weeks and the elders in my congregation felt that it would be good for them to pay me a visit.
i have already declined other such offers.. he asked me why i was not attending the meetings (didn't reply to that) and that if i had a problem that i could talk about it.
And the wheel begins to turn. Good luck Noi and hope you have fun with em.

what you need to know about, "jehovah's witnesses.
1. jehovah's witnesses don't think just the bible is enough:.
the watchtower, 5/1/57, pg.
Great points. You hit the nail right on the head with that one.

you know has returned!.
here's his latest:.
: in all probability, terrorists already possess wmd, but have up to this point been prevented from using them by jehovahs restraining angels.
That would be typical thinking by a JW grasping for a reason to think such things. Far as the 700 club post goes.. ROFL!!!!!!!!!

in my very first post i mentioned meeting the above and promised to relate my experiences - such as they are.. actually i have had a nasty chest cold/virus all wk and have not really felt well so please forgive the delay.. the meeting with ewart chitty took place in the virgin islands circa 1980/1981.
i believe he was on an expenses paid trip to the islands, nothing official, and the local cong.persuaded him to give a talk.the brother who introduced him made a big play of having a member of the governing body visiting us but before starting his talk chitty stated that he had recently stepped down as a member of the gb.. he then proceeded to give a run-of-the-mill unremarkale discourse.the next day he spent in field service with us and came to my house for lunch.at lunch he made a statement that left me thunderstruck at the time.. he said,"i don't get to anything like five meetings a week.i havn't for years.
" i remember it with crystal clarity - i can assure everyone that is an exact quote.i remember thinking that if any member of the congregation had said that he/she would have been in line for some serious counseling.yet here was a recent member of the gb saying that he didn't get to all the meetings.he seemed amazed when i told him that i actually made it ok to all of them.. that afternoon i worked with him in field service and was struck by something that seemed to hit me whenever i worked with a so called "bigwig" whether co,do or gb.
That is an interesting story.. Looking forward to the Franze story.

evolution is not the answer to most of the important questions about life and how it got here.. if current evolutionary ideas are true they only tell a very small part of the story.. simply how random changes to animate and inanimate things can be mechanicly selected by sutible enviroments and prosper in them.. there is still lots about us to explain.. what is the source of the matter in our universe, what caused the "big bang"?.
what is consciousness and how does it work?.
what causes the fundemental forces and how do they work?.
While I don't personally believe in Evolution to the answer for humans as I do believe in God and Jesus Christ, I must say that it is a very compelling argument they bring forth but one that as mentioned earlier does need a lot more explanation for it all to come together.

when the new song book "sing praises to jehovah" was introduced from the great publishing company in 1984, it was clearly and frankly admitted (suprisingly) that some of the old songs had to be dropped due to the fact they were copied from other religions and some even infringed copyright in this regard.
however, from an early age "we thank you jehovah" had always reminded me of "god save the queen" and this song was not dropped and continues to be regularly used down to this day.. i realise in later life that the two songs are indeed similar in a musical sense.
you can almost play one song on top of the other in places and the starting chord structure is identical.. also, the two songs both seem to have a certain feeling of reverence which i am not sure is conjured up by the timing and the harmony alone or by the meaning the songs have in terms of their lyrics and use.. it turns out the british tune has been used many times over by different people and even by other countries, as european visitors to britain in the eighteenth century noticed the advantage of a country possessing such a recognised musical symbol - including germany, russia, switzerland and america (where use of the tune continued after independence).
I remember all the witnesses that used to play those damn tapes of those songs in their cars out in service. (puke) I used to wonder how you could drive down a highway listening to that and stay awake..
