  Does JWs hate the Military?

  based on what i read from yadirf's thread on alternative service, it does give me the impression that the wts and the jehovah's witnesses hate the military, and that any jw who joins the military will be df'd.. therefore, i post the questions if jws hate the military?

  i'd like to see all your views and explanations.. btw rrmayer or rick, thanks for posting the "soldier's creed".

  Your welcome. It is safe to say that they would DF you for joining the military. They would not want you to belong to an organization with more values and honor then the WTS ya know.

  Far as Yadirf goes, He's just plain and simply trying to trash talk anyone he can, and bash everything in site. To put it short and sweet Yadirf is an asshole

  Sounds like they didn't half know what the hell they were doing. As high priced as photographers are, I'm sure if they do too many people that way they'll find their asses out of business as they should.

  In the meantime I'd be kicking their asses in court getting my money back.

  What was the topic at the Special Talk??????

  just wondering here as i had recieved a very cold letter (via e-mail) from a "loving dub" telling me i was a very bad person.

  it just seems funny to me that i recieved it after the date of the talk ( this person knew full well i had d'ad myself 2 years ago - and had no problem until now) and was wondering what sort of "new darkness' they were spreading on the fields of the dubs .

  Wrong type alternative service

  quoted below is the testimony of an ex-jw (one of the posters here) who faced the draft in the '60s.

  notice the form of "alternative service" that he would've been required to do had he been drafted.

  not civilian, but as one who would work in a military hospital ... which would be aiding the war effort -- a breach of one's neutrality.. .

  Now after that obscene display he quotes the Soldiers Creed, part of which reads:
  “Because I am proud of the uniform I wear, I will always act in ways creditable to the military service and the nation it's sworn to guard. … No matter what the situation I am in, I will never do anything for pleasure, profit, or personnal safety, which will disgrace my unit or my country. I will use every means I have even beyond the line of duty, to restrain my army comrades from actions disgraceful to themselves and the uniform.”

  I guess his excuse for not living up to the “Soldiers Creed” might be that he’s no longer a soldier?

  You still talking?? Don't even discuss that creed until you go out and learn what Honor is, because you discussing that is an insult to everyone who does and has ever wore the uniform.

  Far as the time magazine pic goes... The gesture is in line with what most people would think of you.

  So, now I will not post anymore to your childish dribble.

  It's really neat that you don't want to kill me. You learned too much from the JWs to want to do that, didn't you.

  Is that the best you can come up with? It is not human nature to just want to kill people so no this has nothing to do with the JWs at all.

  Right! That would be Jehovah God and his son Jesus Christ.

  While I do believe in god and his son Jesus obviously, in the situation of what makes our country free and keeps it that way makes your point there irrelevant.

  Below is what keeps our country free, and allow you to continue serving the Governing Body of Brooklyn New York.

  CourtTV - A JW Case

  last night (9:30pm est), courttv did a story of a woman who left home when she was a teenager.. she got involved with drugs and prostitution.. she soon gave birth to a child.. she stopped using drugs and quit being a prostitute and took up a job as a waitress.. she now gave birth to a son.. fast forward six years.... she began studying with jehovah's witnesses.. she was applying for something (maybe welfare, i'm not sure.

  i ran to use the bathroom during the commercials and when i came back out the narrator had already said what she was trying to apply for).. the narrator said that whatever she was applying for required that she disclose who the father is and explain why she is not collecting child support.. the father of her son was a married police officer who had an established family and a distinguished career.. she consulted the elders as to what she should do.

  they told her that she needs to be honest and that she shouldn't lie on the application.. so, she set up a meeting with the baby's daddy (the cop).

  Very sad. The hell of it is though if the cop who was the father thought it was gonna screw up his life by people finding out about this child, what the hell did he think was gonna happen if he killed her?? Some people just don't think.
