i wish to conduct a legitimate poll, or at least as legitimate as it can get on this forum.
unless you are or were a jw, please do not respond or make comments.
please simply give an answer, without extended comments.

with the news that the killers of jamie bulger have been released, it would be interesting to know how people feel.. from the mcveigh thread it seems that many americans believe the death penalty would have been appropriate.. i do not know whether many in the us know of the case in britain of a 2 year old being tortured and murdered by two 10 year olds.
but now 8 years later they have been released.. i know of the arguments that they have been rehabilitated since killing jamie bulger.....but is this really justice?
Good point, Waiting, considering he was going to be released anyway.
I do have some more information on the Jamie Bulger case which I would like to post about, but before I do, I want to ask Abaddon a question: Where did you get your information about this case from? Were you quoting from the "media" which you showed such disgust of? Just what information sources did you use?

hellow everyone: there were a number of responses to justice #15 about the parking lot dfing.
i decided to make a new post to deal with these related but different issues.. first, the purpose of the post was not so much about rushing to judgment, but to show that the process is flawed, and the reflective question at the end shows that i was disturbed as to why we allowed these events to develop the way we do, especially over matters that really are not all that serious.. second, your follow-up comments also bring out some good additional concerns.
i will address those that seem to be of greatest concern.
HI Amazing,
Thanks for the clarification. As I suspected, you were being honest to a fault, even when it shed light on your own mistakes. I, for one, did not mean to come across as judging you, but I was judging the situation that you were in. You must admit, it WAS a kangaroo court, and I was just as certain when I posted to you that you were sorry for the way it happened.
It is truly amazing how we could all get caught up in the mindset of the JW's, but the fact is, most of us did, and we have all done things to be ashamed of while in that awful cult.

Hi Billy,
Welcome to the board! The only Tyson I know of in Wichita is the son of a man named Marvin Tindle. Does that ring a bell?
In any case, glad to have you here!

it seems like to me the majority of people who are in the truth, are were in the truth was a result of either a family member are a friend witnessing to them and not many seem to have been found in the door to door work.. from my years of associating with the borg i cannot recall many coming in the truth from the door to door work.. how were you sucked in?
for me it was my aunt who has now even though i am not disfellowshipped decided to write me out of her will to the tune of about $150,000.00 (maybe i should hang around a couple more years)dont think i will.. please respond .
thanks.
Well, the story of my assimilation is a bit convoluted. My first contact with it was when I was 13, back in the fall of 1968. An elderly woman started studying with my mother. My mother had lost her mother to a heart attack the previous summer. Mom studied for awhile, tried to force all the kids (my three bros and I) into a study, and took me to several meetings. I got to know the other teens a bit, and liked them. So when my mother figured out that something wasn't right with a religion which breaks up families, I still stayed in. But, I went back out again about the age of 16, only to flirt with it again when I married and had my first child. (The old fear of armageddon thing) Two sisters I had previously known came to my door one day, and that started it all up again. My husband even studied, but only temporarily. I went back out again before baptism, and shelved it for another few years. Fast forward to 1985, when my grandparents were dying, along with my best friend's mother, from cancer. Then my own mother got cancer. An old friend came to the door one day, and I listened to her reasoning. BIG MISTAKE. I got sucked in all the way this time, and was baptized in 1986, which doomed my marriage, as my husband HATED this cult. I left in 1995, after the "generation of 1914" doctrine was changed and I finally woke up to the lies I had been swallowing all those years, out of fear of death and longing for a better life.
And that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

over the last ten years or so i`ve seen and heard things which when.
looked at objectively can only be termed `craziness`.however, in some.
cases these episodes of craziness might be viewed as wonderful testimonies to a strong commitment to jahovah.
While walking through the school with this group I saw a JW working as a teacher's aid in the hallway. I looked at her and said, "Good morning Mary, how are you and the family doing?"This poor JW turned colors, started perspiring, and stuttered. The principle, vice-principle, and guests stood there looking confused as she finally excused herself and left!
Good story, Java! I just love it when ex's refuse to play by the JW rules and speak to the dubs anyway. It's fun to watch their idiotic reactions!

parking lot disfellowshipping .
[i have changed the sequence of the justice series.
i will post the other titles later.].
Amazing, I love your posts.. but on this one, I must say, MD is correct. You ego was more involved in this incident than your brain or heart. And maybe you meant to show that by posting this, I don't know. Maybe you see that now, and that is why you post your mistakes, so others can learn from them.
But definitely, the second visit to the "Worldly" home was harassment.
No doubt about it. And the JC meeting with immediate announcement reminds me of a Kangaroo court if I ever saw one.
