It's alright, LWT. Don't get me wrong, I agree the last thing the world needs is a racist. Still, somebody is grieving over the loss of their bigot.

How is this Karma?
Why would anybody be happy that someone was murdered? How is this guy's murder heart warming?
BTW, I understand Karma is a two way street.

Quality Men who Don't Smoke and Don't Get Drunk...
by White Dove inwhy's it so hard to find them?
it seems like everyone i see around me smokes: my apartments, every job i've ever had, people on the streets.
finding a quality guy that smells good and has a functioning brain not strung out on drugs or alcohol every week is hard to find..

Whoever made the nasty remark about her being pagan was just out of line. What does that have to do with this?
I think the point was that everybody is guilty of habits that others find annoying or may not find trust worthy.
My second husband was a practicing pagan before he converted to Russian Orthodox. Do I like pagans? Yes. Would I marry another pagan? No.

I don't want to get involved with anyone who I might have to nurse through smoke related illness and premature death.
I've lost 3 male friends over the past year who did not smoke and drank only in moderation. One was in his 40's and the other two in their 50's. The big C got 2 of them and a heart attack got the other one. I can still hear his wife say, "but he wasn't a smoker."
I do not mean to be cruel but for all you know, your smoking partner might be the one who has to nurse you through an illness that will cause your premature death. It's all a crap shoot and any one of us could go at any time. Might as well try to find someone to love while you have a chance.

The Art of Deflection - Proverbs 13:12
by wannabefree inanother special assembly day experience .... this is one that gets me.
one of the talks went on about patience, stick with it, almost there, don't give up on jehovah, he's not slow respecting his promise, his patience saves lives ... etc.
it's not jehovah that i gave up on.

The society's claptrap made me sick also. I am so glad to be free from that Godless religion. It is my sincere hope that you will be free one day too.

What's WRONG with this Ten Plague description?
by Terry inmoses brought 10 plagues upon egypt to change pharoah's mind about letting jehovah's people go.. the 5th plague is to destroy only the egyptian livestock:.
6 and the next day the lord did it: all the livestock of the egyptians died, but not one animal belonging to the israelites died.. .
a few days later the 7th plague is described:.

I've enjoyed reading this thread. It reminds me of the "Torah and More" discussions we have at one of the local synagogues. Every week we discuss scripture and attempt to understand it (which is futile, btw). The nice thing about our discussions is that everybody's thoughts and opinions about scripture are welcome and considered to be valid.

Doesn't an 'allegorical' Garden of Eden nullify the need for a Ransom?
by AK - Jeff ini have noted in the past few months or years that christians, when faced the nearly insurmountable evidence that the garden of eden events are improbable if not impossible [i refer to fossil evidence that supports hominid existence on this planet perhaps millions of years ago, as example] to overcome, that the 'fall back' position is often that the garden of eden account is just allegory, not literal.. but it occurs to me that if it is just allegorical, then there is no specific event to mark the 'fall of man' and 'original sin'.
without that, what purpose is served with the idea of a 'ransom' in which 'the last adam' overcomes the sin of adam in the garden.
why would nt writers refer to the events as if literal if they are just allegory?

I agree totally. It was the above thought that caused me leave Christianity behind.
