Weird Childhood Thoughts
by pettygrudger inwhen i was growing up, i used to think that as long as they made fuzzy loving commercials (i.e.
the faygo one was my favorite & coke second) that the trib & big-a couldn't possibly come!!!
i also used to plan how i would hoard food & water in holes in my backyard that we wouldn't have to eat all the icky mice & insects my mom said we would have to live on.

UN & Df'ing
by Tashawaa ini'm curious... does anyone know of situations where jw inquiring into the un have been df'd?
i did all the research and got info from the original sources (so when i show my family there's no doubt).
i wrote the society once, then got the "usual" reply (2 weeks later) - wrote again, this time pointing out specifics and wanting answers, but instead i got df'd (hmmm, 3 weeks later) for living with my sister (who was disassociated for some time, and was no big secret here in my congregation).

I am so glad that you checked it all out for yourself.
Believe it or not, I had been out of the org for years and then one day last year decided that I might want to go back to the meetings. I put Jehovah's Witness in my search engine and found this site. Not long after, the UN scandal broke and I realized, with a certainty, that the WTS was all a lie, and not to be trusted.
I thank God for this site. It helped me become truly free after years of wondering if I had done the right thing in leaving the org.
My congratulations to you on your new freedom.

My dad told me about this talk you mentioned. He wasn't there but heard from another brother in the congregation who called him to tell him about it. This other brother said that when the witnesses left that day they were stepping high with pride. It made my dad wanna puke. He said he is glad he decided to miss that assembly.

Bash the Catholics here.
by JG inreading one of the other threads got me thinking.
what is the root of anti-catholic sentiment.
i was raised a catholic, still catholic, and have never heard a good reason why some people dislike catholicism.

A lot of the JW dislike the Catholics because the WTS tells them to do it. I think that the WTS is somehow jealous of the Catholics.
Personally, I have always admired Catholicism. Even though not Catholic, I still wear a St Bridgid medallion and admire St. Francis.
