  What show scared you as a kid?

  posting on wtlies thread i got to thinking about the shows i watched as a kid.

  there were a couple that scared the &*^% out of me.

  the old twilight zone where the little demon guy was on the airplane wing was really scary.

  Wow, thanks for the trip down memory lane.

  I have so missed the "Paradise Lost" book's illustrations of Armageddon.

  The thing that always upset me about the pictures was the poor dog that fell into the crevasse with all the evil, worldly people. It caused me many a sleepless night.

  I was a lonely child growing up, as most JW children are. My pets were the only friends I had. I thought that if I wasn't obedient to Jehovah, he would not only kill me but would kill my innocent, little friends too.

  Thank you for the nightmares, WTS. Is there any wonder why I no longer love you?

  Did we take nothing good from the JW's?

  recently on another location online, someone told me my thoughts sound like something from a watchtower or awake.

  they said, i come off in the same manner and use illustrations to speak.

  it was also mentioned that i come off as an elder at times, and sound very authoritarian in my manner.

  One other thing I thought about. Since we weren't allowed to do much or have much fun, I learned to appreciate the simple pleasures in life.

  I am grateful for that.

  God, yes, that was scary. That program came on before my parents had converted and were only studying with JW. After the conversion, and my own personal study started in the "Paradise Lost" book, nothing on tv scared me anymore. How could it when the WTS was doing such a good job of it?

  What TV shows couldn't you watch as a JW Kid?

  we had a whole list of shows we were not allowed to watch including 'speed racer', you'll never guess why.

  it was beacuse in the theme song it says "he's a demon on wheels" but then my mother was a jw fanatic lol.

  Star Trek because it was on a meeting night. Oh, how we used to dance around the living room when we got to be home on a meeting night because of my dad working evenings. I can still taste the popcorn we would fix to eat while watching the voyages of the star ship, Enterprise.

  And we weren't allowed to eat Lucky Charms in my family.

  Goofy, eh?

  Doing the "stupid little sister skits" was the beginning of my love for acting. Going door to door made me unafraid to go to auditions. The KM school prepared me for my career in broadcast radio. Dressing for the meetings helped me learn how to dress in a professional environment Having to pay attention for fear of failing the oral exam when I got home from the meeting helped me hone my listening skills. The desire to make the best dessert at the get togethers helped to make me a great cook......
