Are you afraid to die?

i was about 12 years old when this happened, but i remember it like it was yesterday.

it was a late evening and i was by myself in our home.

i grew up in a country home far from most any thing.

I have entertained thoughts like yours. For my psychology paper I wanted to write about my theory that our understanding of our own mortality and the way we feel about it is the missing link in our personalities.

I tried to find information regarding how people view death and how it affects their personalities but could only find rewritten Elizabeth Kubler-Ross information on death and dying. So, I had to write my paper on the ethics of euthanasia and the Hemlock Society.

Perhaps I will be able to do my own research for my masters.

I believe we might as well go ahead and live our lives. To fear death is, in a way, to fear life also.

The D.C. area sniper

on my lunch break today i was eating at fuddruckers and watching cnn (wish they'd put on fox news instead) and see another sniper shooting in virginia.. well i got to thinking.

could this be terrorist activity?

could it be an al-qaeda terrorist cell?

I think it's another one of our insane American citizens that is the sniper.

But it doesn't matter who is doing it, they are still a terrorist.

Sweet Potato & Pear Soup.... Is Not Yukky

1 tbs of butter .

2 tsp lime juice--or to taste .

5. return to pot, add cream, maple syrup and lime juice.

1 Tbs of butter
1 small onion, chopped
1/4 Cup carrots, chopped
1/4 Cup celery, chopped ( I left out celery)
3 medium-sized sweet potatoes, peeled and diced
2 pears, peeled and diced
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp paprika
5 Cups low sodium chicken broth--or homemade
1/3 Cup whipping cream
2 tsp maple syrup--or to taste
2 tsp lime juice--or to taste
Salt and freshly ground pepper

1. In a pot, heat butter on medium heat. Add onion, carrot, celery and saute for 1 minute
2. Add sweet potatoes, pears and thyme and saute for about 2 minutes
3. Add paprika and chicken broth. Bring to boil and simmer for 15 minutes or until sweet potato is soft.
4. Puree in a blender or food processor until smooth.
5. Return to pot, Add cream, maple syrup and lime juice. Simmer for 5 minutes.
6. If soup is too thick add a little extra broth. Season with salt and pepper, adding more syrup or lime juice as needed.

Delicious with a side of cornbread.

I wasn't trying to burst your bubble. I was just amazed that this IQ test scored me 13 points higher on my IQ than other tests I have taken. That is not to say that I do not score high on others, but 13 points is quite a mark-up.

So, even if we remove 13 points from your IQ test, you still have a score of 131. That is a great score. Well above average. Making you both beautiful and intelligent. Congratulations!

There is no way that I could have gotten a score as high as I did. This test must be inaccurate.

Notice the site's disclaimer:

Christmas Aint Jesus's Birthday

why is this day observed as jesus's birthday?

I have celebrated Christmas. Some days were fun and others were not. None of them had Christ in it. And you know that Christmas is based on lotsa lies like such as Santa and rudolf. Why wait until december 25 to buy gifts fer your relatives and friends? the nameless one buys gifts for his family at different times of the year. the nameless one is kind to people everyday. dont need no christmas to do that. Christmas is also heavily commercialized. you just enriching Satan's commercial world

You are speaking to me as if Christmas is the only day that I buy gifts for my family and friends. Ask anybody who knows me, I don't need a special day to buy a little card or gift to show my love. All my friends and family will tell you that I am a generous, giving person. I enjoy doing it. I enjoy Christmas and Birthdays too. So, I will continue to celebrate these holidays as well as show my love by giving presents any time I want to.

You dont need to set aside a false religious day to show kindness to others. Recall them Israelites that had a festival to Jehovah in the wilderness? their festival to God was really a party for the demons.

You are right about that. Any day is a good day to show kindness to others.

However, I do not need to be unkind on December 25 either. Christmas is the one day a year that my family, friends and I all have off from work. Just because you choose to be stingy with the love on Christmas, doesn't mean that I make the same choice.

December 25 is only what you make of it. If I choose to love God and family on this day, how can Satan or the demons have anything to do with it? It sort of defeats their purpose, don't you think? "A house divided can not stand....."

If you choose to think of demons on December 25, who are you really giving your power to?

I appreciate it that you are concerned about us. But in this case, your concern is misplaced. Celebrating Christmas will not interfere with our salvation.

You really should try it sometimes. The joy you feel can only do you good.

Holy Shite,

You mean December 25th isn't Jesus' birthday?!!!

Since it's a pagan holiday, I guess that I can't buy my family presents, invite them over for a delicious meal, sing songs of praise with them and give my thanks to God for his loving kindness.

Thank you, kind sir. If it weren't for you, I might have had some fun and enriched my life with the love of God and my family this December. Thank you for warning me that God would never be pleased with this sort of behavior on December 25.
