"Shepherd the Flock" book.

hey,.

i'm relatively new here and wondered if any ex-elders (or indeed anyone who knows) could tell me what's so secret about the "shepherd the flock" book.. what is in that book that they don't want ordinary publishers to see?.

i haven't met an elder yet that can give me a good answer as to why it's kept so quiet.. any help would be gratefully received.

That's easy. Because the Watchtower "clergy class" that doesn't exist doesn't want you to be in on the "sacred secrets" of the Watchtower "clergy class". Because it doesn't exist, you see. In fact, the "Shepherd the Flock" book doesn't exist either, since it can be found on "apostate" websites on the internet, and anything that's on the internet that doesn't make the Society look good must be a forgery.

Hope that clears everything up.

The only thing that surprises me about the GB, is that they have not yet (to my knowledge) taken INDIVIDUAL WORDS from any statement/comment/book, and strung THEM together.

Searcher, have you read the pamphlet "Should You Believe in the Trinity?"? Every "quote" in it was done just as you describe -- especially the ones from from the early church fathers.

since i live in tallahassee, i will state that our city derives its name from the tallahassee seminoles who were the original inhabitants of the region, when the americans began to arrive circa 1823. the word, however, is of creek derivation and means "old fields.

i read an article about a 1989 watchtower that stated the preaching work would be completed in our 20th century, but was revised in the bound volume to say "in our day".

i told my brother this and he said, "if it's on the net about jw's it's a lie".

i want to prove to him it was a fact.

i don't know if this is true where you live, but where i used to live, it was against "policy" for brothers to have beards.

I know where the Bible says that Israelites have to wear beards. Leviticus 19:27 "Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard." So naturally, since Jehovah thus encourages beards, loyal JW's rebel against Jehovah and shave. Wouldn't want their cult contaminated by any obedience to Jehovah, after all!
