Struggle,
Yes I'm still here. I don't post very much. I have been pretty busy with a lot of other things.
I hope you are doing o.k.
I have decided to do so much that I didn't allow myself to do before. With the help of a very loving husband, we have been preparing to celebrate the upcoming holidays.
I don't worry about the elders or running into anybody that may want to shun me although I am not df'd, I have been shunned as if I am. But that's o.k. it only means that I don't have to worry about making small talk.
Let me know how you are doing Struggle, and I will try to post more.

Bendrr,
I love birds. I have two little Parrotlets. They are so much fun. I enjoy watching the wild birds. They do seem to have quite the personalities.
I wish I could see peckerhead. What a wonderful bird you have.
It's a priveledge to have a bird visit and claim you as theirs.

Never Hire A Jehovah's Witness!
by Kent inif you are an employer, never hire a jehovah's witness.
the reason for this is simple: that mistake may cost you a lot of money!
you can bot expect a jehovah's witness to do what they are told to do, but you can expect them to do the oposite!

Sam,
It was also JWs that caused me to nearly lose my business. Once I eradicated all the JWs the atmosphere in the workplace became much lighter. The other employees began to have a happy attitude and weren't afraid of saying something which may be offensive to the JWs. And now people don't have to look around the corner for a JW hoping they can walk by without being cornered and having a magazine shoved in their face.
As an owner, I am very careful during the interviews making sure I don't hire a JW. If a JW does come in for an interview, I tell them that leaving a job before it is finished means immediate termination, and I do not give days off unless a leave request is filed at least 60 days in advance. Now JWs decline the rest of the interview.
Of course the policy goes for all of my employees.
I was constantly hearing from the other employees how the JW would keep slacking during the day and how they refused to cooperate.
Anyway, It is a lesson I have learned.
If you are in a position of hiring, be sure all of your company policies cover the actions of JWs also. Never think they are honest.

I own a business and every single JW I hired was soon fired. I found two sleeping with their heads on their desks. I had another decide to tell a supervisor that the supervisor wasn't her "boss" and was flirting openly with other workers. I had another just refuse to work. I had another walk off the job at 5pm to make it to meeting although the job was still going. I could go on and on. I will never hire a JW again. In fact since I am JW free, my business has improved!!! It can become embarrassing when a JW employee starts "witnessing" to a customer and the customer is becoming annoyed!!!
So....Never hire a JW!!!!

Life after the Borg
by Ranchette inmy husband and i were raised as witnesses in strong strict families.. our fathers were elders so we always had to set the example.because of this we started and ran our family the same way.so when we decided to leave were at the top in the congregation so to speak.i was very concerned for our children, actually i was scared to death for them.. i was looking for answers myself and didn't know if i was strong enough to be of much help to my children.we just took things slow and had lots of talks with the kids and walked them through it.i'm realizing that you can get them out just like you got them in in the first place.by your example and lots of communication.it's been 7 or 8 months since we have stepped foot in a kingdom hall and our kids are doing great!they are making new friends and had the best summer ever.the reason i'm telling this is to encourage any parents out there that are as scared as i was.
you can do it.you will enjoy it because you will find that you are much closer to your children.it's amazing how quickly they opened up and told their real feelings without fear of our disaproval.. i just enrolled them both as regular kids in for the first time.no lecturing or preaching to the teachers about what they can and can't do.i'm so excited for them!they can experience all the fun i missed out on and just be kids.i almost fell over when they asked for birthdays and christmas.i gave them both birthday parties this summer and explained that we will have to go slow and figure it out as we go along.. i'm planning on letting them celebrate the holidays at school and i think we will celabrate the seasons picking any traditions we like from their holidays and creating some of our own.i'm just not realigous anymore so will probably never do things the way most do.. hope this gives hope and helps someone.. ranchette

Hi Ranchette,
I appreciate your post. You are right. You find a better relationship exists with your children when you leave the borg. My daughter and I are so excited about the holidays, and the new friends she has made. She is now active in sports, and has been involved in group activities. She has become a lot happier.
I don't have to say the child is "bad association" because they are not a JW, we look the real attributes of her friends.
We are living life as it should be lived now.
Thanks for your words of encouragment.

Have a stiff drink, think of all the great things you can do in life, and decide to do something positive for someone else. Your parents will cool off over time.

Farkel,
You are a breath of fresh air!!!! I love your humor.
I already started and sold a second business to carry the cost of the first one.
It's more than the business. I have to share a building with another business which is owned by a JW. I am shunned and treated poorly on a daily basis. I so despise the JW thinking.
When I got married, it was kept secret because I would lose contracts which would have meant a loss of money. When my marriage was found out about, I did lose a contract.
The whole thing is crazy. It is just to much stress anymore.

I am so tired of the struggles in owning my business. I am tired of the stress and pressure put on me by trying to please everyone else. I want to shut down the company, but if I do, there will be a lot of financial debt I will have to take responsibility for. Bankruptcy looks more and more appealing. Bankruptcy would also cause a financial loss to a very dear friend.
I don't know which way to go, and I really don't have any goals. I just keep doing the same thing every day. I think I am avoiding a decision I should make. I don't know what steps to take to shut down. And the worst part is that there will be employees not receiving their final paycheck. This is affecting me a lot. I have had on going migraine headaches and my neck is killing me, and I'm not sleeping, lack energy, and so on and so on.....
I know I have to be responsible but I am tired of being responsible. I thought I could pull the business out of this nose dive, but I'm not so sure anymore.
I can't talk to my husband about this. He is one of my employees and he will not get a paycheck either. This is all a long, long journey that I just want to be over.
Any suggestions?

Hey, I saw a sign at the fair that said "NO JEHOVAH WITNESSES" I almost bought it. There was another that said "NO RELIGIOUS FINATICS"
Anyway, If you don't want them to come around you can just post it on your door.
