I do not like or agree with the WT's 'flip-flop' on the blood doctrine issue.
However, I do not agree with doctors and courts forcing medical treatment on anyone. This girl is 15 years old and capable of making up her own mind.
Young persons today are more sophisticated and intelligent about their health, etc and should be able to make decisions and accept the consequences thereafter.

This is nothing new.
Back in 1994 when my husband and I got married, the elders wanted to know what type of wedding we were having, the music, where the reception was, etc.
We still look at some of our wedding pictures and laugh. Some of the pics show elders together- it looked like an elders meeting instead of an reception.
Micromanaging a JW wedding is nothing new.
We let the elders have their fun...after we got married I told the Bethelite elder ( a good friend of my husband) who performed our marriage talk that the elders were to stay out of our business. I let him know that they (elders) were not going to be in our business. He laughed, a nervous laugh, because he could not believe I, a publisher, would say such a thing. Needless to say, they stayed out of our business.

elders stopped by yesterday they want to come over monday and talk to me.
i have been df'ed about a year now, they said my dad was wondering why no one was stoppping by to see me.
it was really hard cause i grew up with these guys and i know they are good guys.
Yes, please get some help for your son.

i just got the confirmation she is getting out!!!.
she was in combat competition(won for her team) but she broke her wrist and thumb...and shattered her knuckle.. .
so they gave her a choice.........as they knew she wanted out.

Since you are already DFD, they have not hold on you, whatsoever.
If you want to talk with them, let them know you have no interest in returning and thank them for their concern.
If they press you about why you have not interest in returning, advise them that your religious feelings are personal between you and Almighty God and you do not wish to discuss religion or politics.
That should be sufficient.

the ny brewfest presented by heartland brewery will be held on friday september 8th 2006 from 5:00pm until 10:00pm in new york city at south street seaports pier 16 & 17. the festival is a celebration to recognize the nys beer trail and showcase samplings from new york states 58 outstanding breweries.
we have also partnered with the pride of ny to showcase food and wine producers from new york state.. .
the festival is sanctioned by the nys brewers association and endorsed by the nys department to agriculture and markets the pride of new york farmers marketplace.
I wish we were still in NY.

It's about 10:00 AM EST in Hollywood, FL this morning and we just heard on the TV news about this tragedy.
The news also reported that his wife has not even been notified yet because she is in another country hiking. I feel so sorry for her and their children and to know she has to come home to hear this sad news. It's heartbreaking.

i have come across some old threads that make various accusations against rayfranz, but i think on the whole he seems a kind and thoughtful person.
he didn't do everything right, and he is no saint as some make out: his expulsion is a bit flatteringly called a "crisis of conscience", but he came to terms with the disorienting situation well and did a service to all involved with the witnesses by giving us a look behind the curtain.
some of the things that people hold against him it seems:.
If it wasn't for Ray Franz revealing the inside workings of the organization and his own personal experiences, my husband and I might still be 'brainwashed' dubs.
He made mistakes while in the organization, but so did all of us.
His greatest contribution to our spiritual education and awareness was COC and Christian Freedom.
He is indeed a 'good man'.
