We were two ministerial servants and we invented a perfect way to avoid d-to-d. We'd first delay the group by 15 minutes saying that some older ones had promised to come and they'd be disappointed if we left. Then after assigning the territory we'd go back to the rendevous point and pretend that we were waiting for those who may have missed the group. Often we'd spend over an hour 'waiting' for the non-existant latecomers, in between we'd pretend that we were scouting out territory for the next week. The last hour would be spent having coffee and gossiping.
Loved service!!!

What Really Happened To Ray Last Sunday.
by Englishman inlast sunday evening the following posters piled into the pub: ballistic, little toe, simon, angharad, me, her ladyship, latte, celtic, matty, trucker gb, isp, jstlaws and joy2bfree.
many of us quickly became aware that some of the locals were feeling agitated because, it was rumoured, one of the regulars had been beaten up.
possibly, it was mooted, by someone who was connected to a local kingdom hall.. .

Does Ray have two-wirnesses to the incident? If he doesnt, he does not stand a ghost of a chance in preventing Lucy's son getting baptised. In fact with all these apostates around maybe the Borg is looking for people like Lucy's son to "reach out".

DFing: Where is thy sting?

Hi ...I read that Newsday report on Bill Bowen's DFing. I was surprised that I was more amused by the antics of the "three wise men" than saddened by their action. I think disfellowshipping has become to me like an excavated statue of Molech. Centuries ago it was fearsome diety which incinerated children. Today it is nothing more than a museum piece to to glanced at and move on to the next exhibit.
I think for many of us -- whether in the Organisation, or out or like me inbetween -- we have lost the fear of being disfellowshipped. It was something we feared at one time. It does not matter anymore, as long as your family and immediate friends are with you. The rest can go to hell. But I guess those who go it alone are worst hit especially if their immediate family members are still "loyal" to the Borg. But i guess the days isn't far when DFing will be as harmless as an old statue of Molech.

I remember during one book study, someone said that there would be no cars in the new world because cars cause pollution. To which someone else said that maybe there would be flying horses! (Harry Potter, anyone?) To which the first guy said that travelling would not be necessary at all since we would be able to communicate by thought alone. But if you communicate through thought today they will accuse you of spiritism.

Hi guys
Last Sunday we had a visiting speaker. His subject was the resurrection. In the course of his talk he emphasied why personal study was important. He said that when Moses, Noah and Job were resurrected we would have to conduct Bible studies with them! I almost choked on that. He said if our Bible knowledge was weak we wouldn't be able to conduct Bible studies with the patriachs.
His reason was that Moses had to be taught about Jesus since he wouldn't know about the ransom. Noah had to be told about the earthly paradise and Job had to be educated about the resurrecion since he only had a vague idea of it. The elder said that since Moses was the meekest of all men, he wouldn't object to a Bible study.
I can tell you what Moses will say if you approach him with the 'Require' brochure. He will say: "Look here child, you forget that I gave you the 10 commandments. So please shove the brochure up your arse."! Of course, after saying that Moses will no longer inherit the earth since he will be disfellowshipped by the WTS for conduct unbecoming a Christian. Poor chap, losing the Promsed land a second time.
BTW, the speaker also made another announcement. He said that the resurection would follow the 'first in first out' pattern. This reason: those who die now are technologically superior. They know how to operate computers, and can build Kingdom Halls in one day. So to repopulate the earth this technical knowledge would be put to use. So those who die now will be resurrected first so they can teach the patriachs to operate computers (and maybe CD-Roms to research the WTS literature, sad that there will be no internet in Paradise since it will have been banned as a vestige of Satan's world).
Moses parted the Red Sea, struck water from the rock. Noah built the ark and we have to teach them how to operate computers and build quick-builts.

How many here are still active JWs? If not.....
by Leander inwhen did you leave?.
what prompted you to doubt/leave the organization?.
for those who are still active, do you plan on leaving soon?

The saddest thing in many of these posts is the fact that those who leave the Borg actually throw out the proverbial baby with the bath water. They abandon faith in Jesus and the Bible. I mean just because Bill Clinton bonked Monica does not mean that something is wrong with the institution of the Presidency or the American constitution.
I think WTS is a sinister organisation, set up to make people lose their faith in Christ and the Bible. Well just shows what happens when the Holy Spirit is not in operation. -

Part 8: Defining Moment - visit with Ray Franz
by Amazing ini asked jesus to help me be just a christian, and no more religion in my life.
when he answered, i told him who i was, and that i just sent off a letter ... but i wanted to talk to him to see if he might be available on the weekend i was there.
ray would not hear of it, and asked me to stay at his home for the weekend with he and his wife.

Dear Amazing
Enjoyed reading your latest post. Especially since you mention that you left the Borg a few weeks after delivering the Memorial Talk. I gave the Memorial Talk last year, and then sort of slowed down immediately thereafter. Family pressures compelled me to continue keeping up a front for a few months, but I finally resigned.
Anyway, looking for ward to your next post.
Warm regards

To All Here..... just a question....
by 7robert7 ini'm just curious as to how many ex-witnesses here still believe in the god of the bible ?
and how many, due to the societies teachings have given up on god all together ?

Hi All
Often you will find that those who do not believe in a creator do so because they DO NOT WANT to believe. No amount of persuation will change their minds.
Those who left the WTS and became atheist or agnostic did so, not because of the teachings of the WTS, but because even when they were practicing JWs they had serious doubts about God.
When they discovered the lies of the WTS they took THAT as an excuse to justify their disbelief in God.
But the existance of God is not proved by the rightness or wrongness of any man made organisation. The existance of God is not proved by one's opinion or interpretation of the Bible. Many in this post feel that the God of the Old Testament was a cruel God. Apparently they have not read the Psalms, especially Psalms 23.
These atheists paint the OT God cruel (and tribal)only to justify their atheism. The OT God was cruel with wrongdoers. If you want rampant and unrepentant pedophiles, rapists and murders to roam free, suit yourself. I'd rather they are punished. And if you call that cruelty, amen to that.
