There's been some research and testing at the esteemed Clown College of Los Angeles, CA to determine if the JWs simply have repressed,
dormant, senses of humor, or whether their sense of humor has suffered a permanent paralysis. Testing is also being done on the water used by JWs in their baptismal pools to determine whether a humor repressing/killing agent is introduced in the waters. Some anecdotal evidence exists to indicate that people with healthy senses of humor seemed to suffer paralysis of their laugh track just after their baptismal experience.

Other research being done at The University of Laughology of Queens, NY is attempting to quantify, through testing and research, whether the JW religion simply appeals to people with a damaged sense of humor.

And finally, there are several non-profit, evangelical organizations working hard in a humanitarian effort to revive long-dormant senses of humor in the JW community. Daily massages of their humor are being administered, free of charge in most cases, by tireless workers. Other workers, like guide dogs for the blind, are tirelessly helping those with paralysed laugh tracks to recognize humor.

Donations to the Witnesses Humor Organization for Revitalization, Enthusiasm and Sport are welcome, via a special arrangement set up in concert with the international plumbers and piperfitters union. Simply lay your cash donation on the surface of the water on the toilet bowl and flush three times. You'll recieve your reciept within 24 hours. If it's not seen on the surface of the water, reach in just beyond the bend and you'll find it there.

Was the F & D always a "class"?

i need you guys to point me toward any proof that the wts used to beleive that the f & d was russel himself and not a group of chosen ones.

It should be noted that, Russell himself did not believe he was the FDS. His wife was the one who pushed the issue. His writings support both views. But he never claimed it for himself. Rutherford in trying to appease the Bible STudents of that time, really pushed the issue, even claiming Russell was still directing the Society from heaven.

Rutherford never claimed the title for himself, instead he dubbed himself the greatest Bible expositor of his time. He later held to the idea that the FDS was all anointed ones, and then later during the Knorr/Franz era, this group was idenfied exlusively by the GB. Although the GB claim they just represent the FDS. But you and I both know that is not the case. When WItnesses refer to the FDS, they refer to ONLY the GB, not Br. Joe in the back of the hall.

well friends, it's been nice, but just like the society this board was created for, it has deterioted, far worse than h20 or any of the other boards out there, a certain element here continue to bring down this forum to the lowest of lows, and i no longer have the patience to sift through the garbage and hate incited threads to find something worth while contributing too.

I'm not leaving because of YOUR CTR trashing, I'm leaving because the threads here are spiraled downhill, that and the fact that I have a few projects to finish, particularly a history book that I waws commissioned to write and had put on the shelf only after a few chapters.

Question to shunned persons

if your jehovah's witness relatves came to you and said..... "praise jah, there has been 'new light" and we can associate with you again!".....

what would you say or do?

geez, can't take a joke, eh? to be honest with you, I wouldn't care, I have no bitterness towards the Society or any JW's I may have fellowshipped with. Remember, I wasn't DF'd, I left on my own, knowing full well the consequences of my actions.

At the same time, I did not mourn those I left behind, I didn't cry, feel hurt or anything, I just went on with my life, just me and the wife and now our daughter, haven't seen the inside of a KH in some ten years, have no need to see one.

If my former brethren feel like shunning me, fine! I could care less.

However, I can't really say, why? Because I am the first to admit, I am STRANGE! I care very little for what people may or may not think of me. I know who I am and what I am capable of doing, I answer to no one but the Lord, so if my former brethren knocked on my door and said let's hang out, I would feel awkward, because we still have nothing in common, their still in bondage to the Society, and why would I want to fellowship with people I have nothing in common with spiritually?

I don't even visit my fleshly family for that matter for the same reasons!
