  this is the watchtower media dept.

  in 12 years, after they lose their minds and start killing their members.. then splinter sects will form, based on the degree of corporate punishment each sect believes in.. some will still kill their errant children.. others will believe in spanking and forcing all meeting attendance,.

  and finally, there will be those, prodded by the holy spirit, who renounce all physical contact with other people, preferring punishment by various eye signals.

  No ... Koresh was an offshoot from an offshoot of an offshoot of the Seventh Day Adventist.

  just wondering, are there any religions that exist that might be palatable to dubs?

  i realize all of their teaching goes against this, but i'm wondering from an outside or neutral view, can you think of any that would work for someone who was/is a jw?

  what ever happened to pastor russell, founder and legend of the jehovah's witnesses?.

  he's still alive and kicking.. nearly 100 years ago, utilizing bible prophecy and with strong faith in god, pastor russell foresaw: technology that would instantly spread knowledge and information to everyone on earth; global warming with melting polar ice caps; the eventual restriction of civil liberties; growing political power of protestants; the rise of islamic terrorism; social and civil rights movements; globalization; oppression of "corporate giants" (a term he coined); the merging and collapse of world economies; the jewish holocaust followed by the re-establishment of israel, and much more.

  well, your first mistake was claiming Russell was the founder of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He wasn't, he founded the Bible Students, a renegade Bible Student (Rutherford) founded the Jehovah's Witnesses.

  A thought about corporate reoganization

  it seems there have been a number of changes in the wtbs corporations over the last few years, as well as changes in meetings etc.

  maybe somebody has already thought of this and i missed it.

  this thought was sparked by the thread about them going after another website quoting their material.. i think the watchtower is about to divide its religious and secular functions completely.

  Actually Lieu, there is a president for each of the corporations, the Watchtower of NY has a president, the Watchtower of PA has a president, the CC of JW's has a president. IN fact there is a Watchtower Society incorporated in all 50 states, each having their own President.
