Our Lord Jesus' life as the DIVINE SON of God and the incarnation of GOD himself (emmanuel, meaning "God With Us") was worth far more than that of just one perfect man. That is why the bible says that the price paid by Christ's death was far exceeding what was lost by Adam.

The Watchtower does not believe Jesus died for ALL, only for JW's. They won't admit to this publicly, but privately, it is what is taught. Consider that they taught for decades that their preaching work was the separating of the sheep and the goats, then in 1995, they decided that Jesus is the one who does the separating. But they still believe they play a part.

when i was a teenager i extensively studied nearly every publication.
i especially enjoyed looking up the root words meanings in the hebrew and greek of the bible language.
it gave me the flavor of a word and its origins.
I was so bad, that when I got the new books at the convention, I actually read it cover to cover on the bus/train ride back home. It usually took me 2 days to read the 192 page books on the train ride to and from work. I styudied the Watchtowers and the books for meetings.

YES, .... BUT .... the JW's will deny this, claiming itr is in Jehovah's hands. But at meetings and conventions this is alliuded too, but you will be hard pressed to find it stated so in recent publications.

It should be noted LongHairGal, that Russell did not forced celibacy on anyone. It is something he vowed. There is nothing in the vow about celibacy, only Christian conduct with those of the opposite sex. It should also be noted that there were children living at bethel during Russell's leadership.

The Vow was something Russell created for himself, in time it became a "rule" for those Bible Students who lived at the headquarters. Eventually the vow "leaked" out and Bible Students outside of HQ's saw a benifit in it and asked Russell if it were okay if they took the vow, Russell had no problem with it, stated it was a personal issue.
Bible Students today still take The Vow, it's usually read at the beginning of each Convention Day.
