Jeff, it doesn't make sense in English, why would it make sense in French?

I was told by a JW who spoke to Fred Franz that Franz admitted to him that Rutherford was buried on the property. He told me that if I ever told anyone he would deny it, so ask me if I care!

Sexless marriages
by Mickey mouse ini've heard of a fair few sexless marriages in the borg, probably something to do with the fact that if you're raised "in" you'll have a pretty skewed view of sex by the time you finally get to do it.
so if someone is trapped in a sexless marriage, from a jw standpoint they could get an unscriptural divorce...but...that doesn't leave them free to remarry??!
seems pretty sadistic really.

Actually the Russell's had a sexless marriage. It was common back then.
Unlike the Judge who nailed anything that moved.

I've been to the site several times. It should be noted that the ENTIRE cemetary use to be farm land, that was owned by Charles Tayes Russell ... C.T.'s uncle. Russell partition it and incorporated the United Cemetary. This was to be a cemetary for those who worked at the "Bible House." Several old time Bible Students are buried there, including Russell's sister. THere is no evidence that Russell requested a pyramid be erected on the premises. It seems to have been the work of Judge Rutherford. The pyramid was erected sometime in 1919, and according to the 1919 Convention Report, inside it contained a box of one of everything Russell wrote, including photos and personal belongings. In the early 1990s, apparently during research for the "Proclaimers" book, researchers learned of the time capsuale and actually removed one of the walls of the pyramid only to find it empty. The Bible Students, NOT the Watchtower had to restore it. There is a large masonic temple, but if you've ever been there you will see that it is fairly new construction and not affiliated with the cemetary, it's across the road. In fact where the temple is, use to be the farmhouse. Hope this helps! RR

When were people of color 1st accepted in the Borg?
by kzjw init is my understanding that at one point, witnesses were taught that after armeggedon black people would be turned white, since they were inferior.
so when was this teaching rescended, and what was the progression of minorities the borg?.

RR
IT should be stated in addition to what Blondie posted that Russell did not believe in segregation, we wished to have the brethren united and serving together, but the bvlack Bible Students told him "no", that it would hurt the cause and to keep things as they were.

The Curious Case of Olin R. Moyle
by RR inolin r. moyle was the society's attorney from about 1930 to 1939. he authored several of the society's legal publications.
he later became increasingly disenchanted with the moral tone of bethel, especially the harsh and obscene language judge rutherford used (often in print) and what he considered to be excessive drinking there.
when moyle could no longer tolerate the situation, he wrote a letter to rutherford with his complaints, rutherford responded by promptly expelling him and his wife from bethel.

By-the-way ... I have the actual paper Moyle distributed, do I need to scan it or is it available already?

What RR didn't metion was that although Moyle won his lawsuit against Rutherford, the WTS lawyers dragged the case on and on. When the Society finally coughed up the judgement, Moyle had died.
I didn't forget Farkel, I did mention that the Society appealed the verdict, and Moyle never got paid. Of course that's typical of the Watchtower, drag things out until the other party gets tired, runs out of money or dies.

As some of you here may or may not know. My wife and her family are Haitian, so they attended the French congregation. When I was a Witness I was at the time interested in the old books and history of the faith. So in an attempt toi enlighten my in-law, I sought for old French literature. HAving been a witness since 1975, she had everything from the 70s to the present.
I managed to find a set of original Millennial Dawns and Studies in the Scriptures volumes as well as the Tabernacle Shadows. My most prized possession in the French language is a set of [Zion's] Watch Tower from 1903 -1917 and am wondering if it would be worth scanning and making them available?
What say ye?
