Wasted life as a JW?....Be Optimistic!

its not too late to learn or be educated or retrained etc!

its easy for me to say i guess...but it cannot be anymore.

times have definitely changed.. in the uk most folks planned on retiring at 60..possibly 55. it was important to get ahead while in your early 20s and hope to be coining it in your 30s, 40s.

does anyone remember a little cartoon in the 1970's, in which the main character was a egg-like crystal(?

) creature named ludwig?

when it came on, ludwig would fly into the scene with a little propeller, to the tune of a little violin musical ditty (beethoven, i assume).

Razor you're not insane unless we both have exactly the same imagination ! I remember Ludwig too! Absolutely bizarre man!
It was actually only about 5 mins per show and was shown on BBC1
here (UK)about 1977 (?) Whoever conceived this show was on something!
It reminds me now of Terry Gilliam's Monty Python cartoons.

Alpha Meetings! What are they? Who are they?

i was wondering if any one has ever been involved or are involved in a group known as alpha.

they provide a 15 meeting course on their beliefs.

these groups and others like them have made me wonder if we all agree that wts is corrupt and harmfull what makes another group with strong beliefs and convictions right, are we not falling into the same trap as when we were witnesses if we get involved in any of the hundreds of sects, cults, denominations that are out there.. http://alphacourse.org/about/whatis.htm

would you go out with someone who was not physically attractive if he/she had a big heart on the inside, a great personality, lot's of things in common with, etc...i guess i'm asking what's more important to you the person on the exterior or who he/she really is underneath?.

Just kidding...your experience reminds me of the scripture about the
pig with a golden earring.you're absolutely right about people growing
on you and they become more attractive as their personality shines
through.I've usually found that less attractive people have more attractive personalities.However the initial draw IS looks because that's the first thing you see.Depending on how shallow or deep we are dictates the rest............

Better get ready I'm late for the meeting..

I,m in the mood for a good guilt trip,dirty looks from elders etc
Then plodding around for an hour in the rain trying to convince
people I'm happy and they need to read 2 rivetting mags on ancestor
worship which I've not even read....
Got to the point where I couldn't even be arsed reading warching
