DF attending Memorial

what happens if a df person attends memorial service?.

will they be treated badly?.

would they be snubbed?.

I remember a Disfellowshiped person who happened to arrive late, who would normally sit at the back of the hall, on this occasion all the seats were taken.

They therefore had to make their way to the front of the hall.

The look of utter disbelief on one elders face !!!!!!

As already been said they won’t talk to you, they are afraid they might be seen by elders, although they, the GLORIOUS ONES can and probably will (this feeds their little ego).

It’s bad enough not to be talked to, but if you have a young family they won’t talk to them either.. the children do not know what’s going on.

This on a night where true Christianity should be displayed.

How do you answer "you research just to criticize"?

minimus' thread about research got me to thinking about a friend who recently accused me of researching just to purposely find something wrong so i could justify my actions (of becoming inactive).. how would you answer this?.

I researched so that I could defend myself from elders who twisted scriptures to win a point or to be in control of a situation.

Small example ; I accused an elder B.D. of stumbling me an in his duty as elder, he showed me in the book of Romans where it says we can’t be stumbled, because of my knowledge I was able to showed him also in Romans where you can .

This is a prime example of elders "controlling" a situation, fortunately we are not in the dark ages where the leaders could get away with this sort of thing. We know as much as them, ……which nowadays I found isn’t much.

What the hell is "new light"?

where did the term "new light" come from?

was this ever in print anywhere or just a phrase that was created by followers when trying to describe changes to official doctrine or policy?.

"truth" as "light" cannot change.

It’s another word for lying, if they want to use that nonsense how do they explain Deu.18 v 20-22 where god warns about ones prophesying and getting it wrong, in other words ALL that they got wrong is now NEW LIGHT

They have an answer for everything…….that’s why they get it so wrong

My Resignation Letter

Good for you, I resigned over much the same, only my wife came with me.

They put a lot of emphasis on the faithful and discreet slave, on just two verses in the bible Math.24 45&46, surely if it was SO IMPORTANT why is there not more information elsewhere.

Their whole structure is based on just these two verses, but it’s the main question the elders ask when determining YOUR loyalty.

I am positive the elders can’t explain the true meaning !!

As for 607bce well that’s a farce.

Can JW's accept alternative military service and has this policy changed?

am i correct in saying that in countries with conscription, jw's used to have to refuse alternative service provided by the state for conscientious objectors?

thus usually resulting in imprisonment.. has this policy of not accepting alternative service changed?.

if so could someone be so kind as to provide wt quotes.. thanks in advance.. thomas covenant.
